I got to the ground at 7.15pm aswell mate...waited out in the car park with the crowds until the announcement!

I was talking to Chris Hunt from the Southend Manor site (Top lad, like his old man) he mentioned that you have moved locally.

That's right, the patrons of Southend-on-Sea now have another benefit claimant to support and sponge off them. As I'll be able to see a few more Manor games I asked Chris if he wanted any contributions from me for either the programme or website. Good man that Chris is, he's put the non-league round-up that I do on the website.

 

Basildon United will always be my team, and I'll always do what i can to help them out, but I dare say I'll be at the Hive less and Southchurch Park more. Which sort of feels like being let out on parole after a period of hard labour.

Yeah, I noticed on their new website, I'd be sorely tempted but it's England in the Six Nations on Saturday. My old man played for England way back in the 50's so there's never any trouble getting tickets for England games through his old clubs and friends of friends, etc.

 

I honestly can't remember what I wrote about old saggy face but I do know I've written a whole column in a future programme about his 'honest' management skills. I don't think he, or Enrico for that matter, would like it much, but then again I'm quite happy to get the cheapest of cheap laughs.

 

I still think you're in there with a chance of the title. As you say, if games come thick and fast and you're on a roll ....
