I would also like to add Terry says " We have great support at Margate. We would obviously like more people to come through the turnstiles, but those who do follow us are tremendously loyal"

Being contentious-he does not actually say-with margate !!

That given, i too am encouraged by the last line as we have lacked continuity/forward planning from one season to next for so long now-either in terms of players and/or management;so i do now hope TY remains in charge next season for continuities sake

The ironic thing is-given their experiences this season, i reckon virtually the same group of players-maybe one ot two additions only, could start afresh and find themselves in the ryman premier play-offs next season.

Of course-until we know what division we will be in, i'm sure no-one will be either asked or indeed wish to sign up for next season-and it looks increasingly like it will be down to the very last game

Thats not what I call a true and loyal fan then Michael, I believe IMO that you should support your club through thick and thin not just be a glory hunter fan.

In terms of actual attendance figures, I personally think they would rise were we to be relegated. Ultimately, I think we would be at the top end of the Ryman 1 South, but probably still struggling / mid-table obscurity of the Ryman Prem next season. And, generally, a winning team is more likely to attract larger crowds.

I disagree with the attendance argument. If our Southern League promotion year is anything to go by, attendances would remain modest right until close to the end of a potential promotion season. Coupled with that, the other teams in Ryman South seem to take very few fans with them.

Relegation would signal another budget cut I fear.

If i understand you correctly then BGA, the only people who should attend are the 'core of loyal fans'. (whatever a loyal fan is and think that ones been done to death )

I for one would be delighted to see margate attendances of circa 1000 made up of perhaps 500 'loyal fans' and 500 glory hunters.
I suspect that the club would not mind the additional income stream from the 500 'glory hunters '

I THINK TERRY SHOULD STAY AS MANAGER BUT IF HE DECIDES TO LEAVE, IF WE GO DOWN, THEN THERE IS ONLY ONE MAN THE CLUB SHOULD GIVE THE JOB TO.... MARK WEATHERLY. HES BEEN INVOLVED WITH THE CLUB FOR NEARLY 20 YEARS, HE KNOWS ALL THE YOUNG GOOD FOOTBALLERS IN THE AREA, HES PERFECT FOR THE JOB. FOR THOSE WHO DONT NO , MARK PLAYED OVER 470 GAMES FOR GILLINGHAM FC, CAPTIAN AND PLAYED ALONG SIDE STEVE BRUCE....THERES NO ONE BETTER IN THE AREA THEN HIM... KP MIGHT NOT BE KEEN ON HIM BUT WE ALL NO, IF TERRY GOES AND WE GO DOWN MARKS THE MAN FOR THE JOB... WHAT DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK ?
