Still a long way to go

Still a long way to go i know before we can talk of the title but we are contenders and assuming totton will be there at the end which at present it looks like, the next four games are interesting.

If we can maximise the points and although all games are difficult totton probably have the more difficult games.

Actually there's very little difference. If you look at the games in team order, Windsor have:

A Abingdon United 16th

H AFC Hayes 12th

A Andover 20th

H Beaconsfield SYCOB 4th

A Bishops Cleeve 15th

A Bridgwater Town 18th

A Burnham 14th

A Cinderford Town 6th

A Cirencester Town 11th

H Gosport Borough 7th

H North Leigh 13th

A Paulton Rovers 9th

H Taunton Town 19th

H Thatcham Town 8th

A Truro City 3rd

H Uxbridge 10th

A Winchester City 22nd

H Winchester City 22nd

Whereas ACF Totton have...

A Abingdon United 16th

A AFC Hayes 12th

A Andover 20th

H Beaconsfield SYCOB 4th

H Bishops Cleeve 15th

A Burnham 14th

H Cinderford Town 6th

H Cirencester Town 11th

H Didcot Town 5th

A Gosport Borough 7th

H North Leigh 13th

A Paulton Rovers 9th

H Slough Town 17th

A Taunton Town 19th

H Truro City 3rd

A Uxbridge 10th

i.e. We play Bridgwater, Thatcham and Winchester x2 which they don't (so that's 18thA, 8thH, 22nd H+A). Totton play Didcot (5thH) and Slough (17thH) which we don't. We've both got 8 home games, so they have relatively more.

Very close whistle

It is impossible to say who will win the league with such a long way to go, 18 matches left and we are already looking at a three horse race (I think Truro need to be included),very brave. But it is our best chance and I believe we have the best team. The next few games will be a tester to see if we can capitalise on this "easy" run in. See if our mentality is in the right place, we have performed in the big matches now grind out the hard part of the season and get what we deserve. Also try not to be distracted by the two cups, love to win either or both, but promotion is clearly much more important

As a former title winner of the Slough Soccer Combination Under 12's Division 2 I'd like to think i am qualified to know what it takes to win a league.

A game by game attitude!

Truro are clearly still in it but SYCOB have a tough run in. The have to play thatcham, totton, a derby with burnham, Truro,Paulton, Windsor, Cinderford and Sluff.

Totton vs Truro being a draw with lots of sending off's would be perfect thanks!

No question that any of the top 5 could win it (and probably any team in the top 12 could hope for a playoff place). I think we've got the best position, but then it may not be to our advantage having more games in hand rather than points in the bank...

But like it said on another thread, the Colonel's plainly got it right so far!

I don't think anyone who went to that Lewes game and then had to endure the rest of the season will take the title as ours until we have it in our clubhouse.

But we have considerably more depth in our squad now and we are performing, I believe, at a higher level and more consistently.

Lets have this conversation in May and hopefully we shall be saying all the same things and looking forward to the new season in the Premier.
