U18's into Pelly Cup Q Final

Recommended Posts

Excellent performance today, few issues, but considering the conditions and playing on a different surface. They also had a bit of luck on their side, with Harrisons 1st goal (from a corner) and, IMHO, Luka's goal which I think he was fouling Brentwoods CB. But overall, thoroughly deserved the win, against a (usually) good passing Brentwood side who beat the Blues 3-1 in pre season. TC, were you there?

Top stuff today from our promising Youth team, Our boys showed true class in the way they taught brentwood a football lesson in extra time with slick passing as i can only describe as pure brilliance, as for the pre-season game if i can recall it was 3 30 minutes and played as a training game so.....

well done lads, good luck in the next round

sorry Miyagi, just spotted the question.

I'm not sure, I probably was there, but wouldn't have taken a great deal of interest in the result as those games were about player selection.

Anyway, I'm glad you thought it was a thoroughly deserved win, we have come along way since pre season, the lad's are doing great.

Hi guys (and any girl fans out there too!), I think John Misfud's write-up on the U/18's Cup game yesterday is a really great reflection of the match/what happend!

That's the 2nd time now I've seen the lads play, in parts, some really silky slick footy, playing as a team like a well-oiled machine!! (I'm a poet, didn't even know it!!)the 2nd time also, they've seemed to have heads on their shoulders beyond their years! - keeping posession of the ball for long periods, part of the sign of a good team I feel!.

The defence were also very disciplined in coming out as a unit, particularly in the 1st half (meant as Lino I had to keep even more alert!!).

I have heard that you'll play Loughton Town and not Hullbridge Sports that have been removed from the competion for playing an inelegible player.

So I'm told, although I don't know the story 1st-hand. It's a shame, as it would have been very convenient for me, just being down the road from us, and could have been considered a local derby. Looking at the website top-right fixtures it looks as though the lad's U/18's Q.Final with Loughton is off tomorrow. Dissapointed for the lad's, but my own lad's pleased in a funny sort of way, as he couldn't make that one, and wants the chance of getting picked for the squad for that! What's the history of your call-name 'Reserve Coach', is it just a nickname, or are you involved in coaching?

In case you hadn't guessed, I'm an Arsenal nut, as is my lad (not much 'brainwashing' involved whilst he was in nappies!!)hence the nickname given to me kindly by my lad's previous team!

Looking forward to the Tottenham-Arsenal game tomorrow.

Nice to chat guys.

Stevie Henry.
