Under 18s today

The Urchins under 18s beat Bealonians 3-1 today at a very cold Bridge Avenue where all eyes were upwards in preparation for the white stuff about to come down. As it happened there were only a few flurries so the two teams were unaffected and both contributed to an entertaining game.

The young Urchins had most of the early play and a 30 yard thunderbolt from Kyle Joseph-Paevie hit the far post and rebounded into play. It was not long before our lads had their noses in front and after a blatant push in the area, up stepped Remi Sutton to bury the resultant penalty. The Urchins continued to press and many chances were created but they had to settle for the single strike before half time.

The second half started in much the same way with chanes begging but then in the 60th minute Kyle Joseph-Paevie was sent clear and buried a drive into the far corner.

The Bealonians lads never gave up and to their credit endeavoured to play the game in the correct manner and gained their reward in the 74th minute. A move started from the back was slotted home to get them back into the game.

But the Urchins kept up the pressure and after Joe Pattison was brought down in the area in the 88th minute he picked himself up and calmly slotted the ball home from the spot.

Another very pleasant afternoon in the Winter sunshine and with home games scheduled for Tuesday and next Sunday.
