We did well over two-thirds of the pitch, but as for the attacking third we never really looked like scoring.

 

First half we did well. We restricted Tonbridge to one clear-cut chance. A Rook shot which Mullin palmed away.

 

However, the home side were always going to step it up after the interval and, ultimately, they deserved the win. That's not to say Tonbridge were anything great, it's just that we had very little pressure ourselves.

Ramsgate v Dover

 

I know its the wrong forum & most wont be bothered about this game but as I couldn't make the Tonbridge game I popped over to the other side of the island.

Dover very efficient but certainly not showing championship form however never really looked in danger of conceding even with 10 men for 50 minutes of the game.

Ramsgate,to their credit did try hard & kept Dover at bay but in truth this was a poor game with very few chances at both ends. Best chance came in the final 5 minutes but Ollie S. powered the ball with a gaping goal at his mercy way over the bar when it should have been easier to score,even for a centre back. Did he let his ex team-mates off on purpose I was wondering at the time.Probably just an erratic effort to an easy opportunity. Warren S also had a good chance to nick all 3 points just after.

Dover were pumping more high balls forward than even Ramsgate were doing. Decent crowd (down the Dover end at least). Highlight of the day was seeing Steffan Ball throw his shirt towards J.Ward for being substituted (or was it for frustration) & then seeing J.Ward then throw it back. Made everyone laugh did that.Referee was shocking.Young & trying to do a big mans job but didn't succeed.

Both defences won the day & a Draw a fair result I thought.
