Windsor 2 - AFC Totton 1

And wasn't that close.

Totton are definitely the toughest team we've faced this season, whatever the result says. Strong, fast, made good use of the pitch, and they didn't let us play our own game... Chenns looked lonely up front, he wasn't getting the service he needs because we kept having to pull people back... but in the end you can't argue with Willo's pair of goals! And we never stopped trying either, in the past we've fared much worse against that sort of pressure.

Great work from the guys. Decisive win? We'll see... but I reckon that if we'd lost, with not just an 8 point gap but the blow to morale we might never have made back on top. Now it's looking pretty good.

A tough match in tough conditions. The Wind really played a part.

Our Midfeild wasn't on top today...shows how we miss coyne in my view. The clash of heads of our players seemed to knock us off our stride for a bit too. Lets hope Ryan gets well soon!

However 3 points is job done. Your not going to out play a good side like Totton. Yes we rode our luck at times but so did they...ben was denied by a great save at 2-0 which would of killed the game.

But My oh my how Cold was the weather! People actually turning blue in the Punto stand due to it!!!

Now we must focus on beating abingdon. Now point winning today if we dont win our games in hand.

You're not kidding about the weather... the infamous Tuesday evening game against Chertsey a few years back might have been colder on the thermometer, but it didn't have that wind! I was so pleased when the final whistle went, and not just because of the score!

I thought Bruce had had the worst of the knock, and he was the one with the head bandage, but then it was Ryan went off - it certainly did seem to remove our hold on the game. Agreed, hope he's OK soon.

I thought first half even, second half we got the early goal and then seemed to sit too deep and invite them to come at us. A few more bookings, some silly, may cost us dear later in the season. Great match for a neutral and one of those rare top of the table clashes that actually looked like two top of the table teams playing.

Have to say the league got it right with the ref as they did with teh Didcot game. Big game and a ref who took control of the game and knew how to handle it. Comedy moment with the ref telling Wallace to get up in a very condescending voice as he sat on the pitch waiting for his ahem "Clearly obvious foul" hmmmmm.... More refs telling the players to stop messing around and to play the game wouldnt hurt.

Big respect to Totton and their supporters who were great in the bar after the game, if not us then surely they will and should win the league.

Always wonder what neutrals think of us and our ground. Funny, when we were Premier (Conf South) our ground was considered very poor and barely worthy of the division (remember no terracing behind either goal, chicken run in poor repair and very poor terracing and no terracing down that side either side of teh chicken run), but at this level is clearly one of the best in our division. Agree that some cover behind the goals would make our ground superb but what we have is very good and is a testament to the work that has been done at the club.

With regards to the game, had Ben scored that third (pulling that terrific save from their keeper) then it would have been game over, but they certainly made it an exciting finish by pulling one back and debateably deserved an equaliser. But we could say that about games like the Beaconsfield one. But Totton could easily have taken six points off of us and it is credit to the way the team is pulling together and fighting that they only managed one. That is why I believe we will go on and win the league (Big statement, but i have made it, so there!!!)

Really enjoyed the game yesterday, both sides should be commended for playing good football in difficult conditions.

I didn't realise how strong the wind was until just before half time when I ventured round to the bar and stood in the punto stand, at that time we seemed to be camped in our own 18 yard box but that was down to the wind making it impossible to clear the ball up field. Coming in at ht 1-0 up against the wind was a great achievement.

It was ironic in a game played by 2 sides trying to play the ball on the deck that the second goal came from a good old fashioned long punt down field.

In the end Totton will probably feel they did enough to at least draw the game but I think we deserved it if only for some of the great last ditch tackles.
