A clean sheet

Not the greatest of games, and if not for Chris Moore in their denfence it could have been a lot more. Still a win is a win and I for one will take those all day long, after last weeks result. A good workman like performance form our defence. So lets hope we get a game next week, weather permitting, and carry on upwards and onwards...... elephant

we were much the better side in the first half and could have been out of sight 3/4 up if we had our shooting boots on....second half canvey upped their game and had most of the play but they never looked like scoring and never had one shot on target through the whole 90 minutes...in fact I cannot remember even half a chance on our goal...new keeper looked safe and steady and that should give dale some compo for the 1st choice No 1 spot which is not a bad thing and I thought our defence was excellent today...midfield to deep in the second (whats new) giving me palpatations and cause for serious complaint to the refs assessor about the ref (who wasn't too bad as it goes) and who took it all in good humour

nice to see old urchins back playing at the bridge... tarkan, chrissie moore, both still mighty fine players and also nice to see scoupy at the bridge again after 3 years...he looks well as all the devils disciples do..grin

disappointing attendance to be honest but what can you say....times is hard and even at our level a day out at footie is expensive when there are bills to pay....

so 3 points that were vital and a good solid urchin performance...well done colin and the boysies and the hardy souls who braved the sub zero winds at the bridge...good voice from the good natured yellow/blue/red/white eastside (surely what footie is all about) and well done to the canvey fans who always stay the course and enjoy themselves in victory or defeat.....applause

My head is hurting as well.

We played much better in the second half but didn't create nearly enough to test your keeper. We can't buy a goal at the moment.

Have to go with Dave Basically on this one not the best of games IMO we played well first half and should of been 2 or 3 up but in the second half I felt canvey were on top but wasnt good enough to finish.

But was pleased with the whole day really good atmosphere with some banter and you cant really get better than that also can I say Well done to the 15 Canvey lads who walked from there to our ground but lads havent you heard of the C2C nowdays or couldnt you lot afford it HAAHAHAHAHA

not the best of games, but very glad of the points. always good to see the canvey fans, always good banter. i must admit i had to laugh at their song aimed at the mean machine dean green. "i'm so mean, i've got to wear gloves". lol.

if simon had found the killer ball when he came on, it could have been about 3. happy with the clean sheet, but did canvey have a shot on target?

i guess the canvey players didn't listen to their keeper's hilarious speech as they lined up. "look into their eyes and let them know that you know you're better than them. show them you have desire, win every personal battle" haha, yeah, don't flap at free-kicks either. smile

Didn't think Mel did too much wrong with the free kick really, our defence just seemed to switch off to the danger of the rebound. We're having a real problem scoring goals at the moment, as was evident yesterday.

Well done on the win, and thanks for the usual warm welcome from all we met at AFC Hornchurch.
