The 'run -in'-realistic expectations.

Took a look at our final 15 fixtures (a third of the season to go still !!)

Avoiding being fooolishly optimistic, and based on slightly improving form,i reckon we can accumulate 19 more points to total 44 points-probably not quite enough-usually you reckon on 50 points to be safe, but i reckon 47 will do it this year so need a bit more somewhere.

5 wins,4 draws,6 losses.

seems realistic to me-and we should be able to do a bit better.

Tonbridge-lose

C Island -draw (tough one that )

T and M -win

Hastings -draw

B Wood -win

Wealdst -lose

Dartford -lose

Horsham-- -win

Maidstone -lose

Biller -draw

Harrow -win

Heybridge -draw

Ramsgate -win

Sutton -lose

Staines -lose.

Horrible final two fixtures and suspect we will need a win from one of them to stay up in reality, but IT IS ON AND MORE THAN POSSIBLE WITHOUT EVEN BLIND OPTIMISM

I think we still have enough to stay up, despite our precarious position and some tough games to come. Personally, I think if we need something from that final game at Staines (and with the opposition surely guaranteed a playoff place by then), we could go there and win. Altogether now.... We are stayin' up, say we are stayin' up!!

UPDATE TIME 1st March (from original january post )

I still reckon 47 points required, and i still put us on 44 points.

Got the first five results of tonbridge,Tand M,Hastings ,bwood and wealdstone all correct so am not doing too bad.

Really worried about my draw prediction against canvey though-original prediction was based on a saturday fixture-and we really struggle in essex on a tuesday night.

Whichever way i look at this ,i still put us on 44 points -where is that extra win going to come from ?

Well, I wasn't expecting anything from Saturday (or indeed from the next two games) so it's as you were. Interesting to see Hastings get sucked into it, their remaining games are pretty tricky...

Tue 3rd Mar H Dartford

Sat 7th Mar A Billericay Town

Sat 14th Mar H Canvey Island

Tue 17th Mar A Carshalton Athletic

Sat 21st Mar A Ramsgate

Tue 24th Mar A Hendon

Sat 28th Mar H Staines Town

Sat 4th Apr A AFC Hornchurch

Sat 11th Apr H Sutton United

Mon 13th Apr A Tonbridge Angels

Sat 18th Apr H Hendon

Sat 25th Apr A Wealdstone

Apart from Hendon at home there is no game in that list where you would make them clear favourites.

Dartford , Horsham and Maidstone all possible and i think we could take 3pts from Heybridge and im going to bite my lip and say 3pts against Staines they will be safe enough and where they want to be so they will play a few ressies or bench warmers against us as they will need there 1st team fit for the playoffs . 15pts for the taking if we can keep our form going the way it is at the mo , our only problem will be is when Liam Harwood as gone and who has the confidence to fill his boots but im sure Ty would have worked that out by then .

The most important thing is the surport the lads get from now until the season is over , if we can get behind them for the final push we can come out winners . I hope the attmosphere is like the last home game as i missed that one . If it is we can help them win it . Up the Gate .
