How's it looking for the weekend?

With more rain forecast and the conditions of most pitches in the southern area what chances are there of any matches being played this saturday.

Can anyone let me know how Guildfords pitch is looking and what the chances are of it being on.

By the way,JJ,I don't want your opinion as it's always 50/50 even when its 8 inches under water and up to your waist.....

Training at the club tonight so will let you know. I reckon its probably 50/50 though at present!!

 

Will have to get a ladder down to one of the huge divots in the ground to check for water!

Dont know where you get you weather forecast Weevil but BBC forecast is for wet weather for the west country and staying dry for the south east All games should be on !!!!

staying dry until monday so all games should be on , then bad weather returning next week so midweek games look dodgy

JJ, what was your pitch like at training last night then?

 

Is it looking good for our game to go ahead tomorrow?

The pitch has not been touched since the poor state it was in on Tuesday. I'm told the groundsman is hopefully going to get on it today and try to perform a miracle. It needs rolling! Simple as that. If he can get on it and get it rolled then there is a good chance of it going ahead. If the puddles are still there, then i cant see how it can possibly be rolled. It would just churn up even more. No more rain is forecast thankfully.

 

The team were told last night the match will go ahead and to prepare as normal.

 

For your benefit Jurg, we were actually on the pitch last night working on crossing and shooting!!

(Just not in the centre circle!!)

 

I will advise on here if i'm told the match is off!

I would say more like a 50% chance rather than 50/50 mate. Or even 'touch and go'. Or maybe 'half and half. But its never in a month of sundays 50/50. Where do you get that crap from??

 

Has a date been arranged for our re-visit to Meadowbank yet Teffers?? And i dont mean to see JR Ewing (hope you're on the mend BJR) or to play Dorking!!

Yeah you should be ok, may be a "little" sticky in the goalmouths but has been dry for most of the week, only probs will be how hard the frost is tonight, as in front of the stand wont get any sun before the game, that may be a problem.
