A clinical finish by Denilson 5 minutes from time clinches it.

 

Solid at the back, tenacious in midfield. lively up front. Depending on SSML restructuring - the Magpies could be on the way back.....

TheDoogisKing - Yes that was certainly an impressive win but no real surprise as Amersham Town are big under achievers and are potentially a Premier Division Club. They have not capitalised as yet on moving into a refurbished Spratleys Meadow following a couple of seasons in the wilderness groundsharing at Beaconsfield SYCOB and the big ideas the Club had having secured Football Foundation money for the extensive upgrade of the ground have not really materialised as yet but I'm sure they will before too long.

Rhodes - it was only 1 season at Beaconsfield but you are correct.

 

There has been a long history of accepting mediocre managers though - which has only very recently changed. Hopefully the current duo will remain and, even if we don't do it this year - we will mount a serious challenge next.

TheDoogisKing - I had a lot of dealings with Steve Cogdell during the 2006/2007 season when trying to secure a groundshare for the following season for Kentish Town and got to know him and the Club quite well in that time. Spratley's Meadow was a possible backup for 'us' if the Copthall Stadium had fallen through which as it transpired it didn't, I found Amersham Town to be a really nice Club who prided themselves on doing everything right, there were no hidden agenda's at all which was quite refreshing in this day and age.

Steve is ok - decentr bloke - been there for donkeys years. I think the problem has been that a lot of the older people there were so happy with simply surviving in the past, that it is a bit of a culture shock when efforts are made to transform the football side...

it was a fluke. though our finishing was so poor that we deserved it for being so wasteful.

 

the equaliser didnt "bounce over the keeper" - it soared over his head into the net like a missile. he wouldnt do that again in 100 years....
