A MISSED opportunity to collect 3 points.

After we had levelled at 1 - 1 two chances went missing by inches each side of the goal and in the second half a further 2 chances were missed.

One by Hammond blasting the ball "miles wide" was a very poor miss.

Having said that Chatham could / should have scored in the second half but for a good save.

Overall, the NEW TEAM need to gell sooner rather later and than leave it until March !! Now is the time to collect points with February looking very "interesting".

3 points - a missed opportunity.

A MISSED opportunity indeed!

The entire 90 mins were painful, the Chatham goal came from the left flank as their player rode three half hearted tackles before getting the ball across the box to be slotted home, our goal came from a defensive mix up leaving Deane, who still had work to do, to slot home.

Our 2 (sorry dont know his name yet, still learning the names) had a first half nightmare.

Wild was sent off for kicking out at their striker, a novel sending off where not one player complained.

We seemed to be consistently playing down the left flank, why I dont know but it clearly wasnt working.

One positive thing though, I won the raffle excited ............ he starts up front next week! Boom Boom! evil

A decent point rescued from a disjointed performance. We were awful for the first half hour (with the exception of the first 5 minutes) - we needed a bit of luck to get us going, and we put a few more moves together after Michael Deane had equalised.

Thought we got our tactics about right after going down to ten men, leaving Ryan and Michael up front to try and work an opening.

Referee Simon Leaf, one of the better ones in the league, had, IMO, poor game, though not as poor as some thought crazy.

BTW Jim, Chris Wild didn't actually use the words 'nailed on'; they were my words not his.

May have done Hammond an injust --
it may have been Edgar who blasted over.

I thought Edgar was a mid-field player - why do we persist with him up front ??

When oh when will Ellis be back.

I think the last six games have shown great promise, with 4 wins a draw and a defeat at the highly rated and this Saturdays opponents Wingate albeit by the odd goal.

Our draw on Saturday was achieved with 10men, I remember in November us struggling to get a draw v's Thamesmead who were down to 10 men and without a recognised keeper for three quatres of a game, some fans slaughtered our teams efforts that day, so we should praise (as some have done so admirably on this thread) when we get a battling point with a man down.

Agreed regard the point with 10 men for the last 15 mins or so but what about the other 75? & the reason we was down to 10 men in the first place.

A hard game Saturday, that in my view we now need to win to keep up the very slim chance of a play off place, by the time we play Cheshunt away on the 10th Feb we need our points total to be around the 40 mark.
