Langley Rebel

Oh come on Staines how on earth can you compare the two things!!

Your an idiot. I actually have had Slough fans apolgoise to me and other windsor fans because of you and your idiotic ways. An embrassement to yourself and your club.

I bet you wouldn't say that stuff to peoples faces would you?

You really have a problem with Seeds hey???? I really dont see how his wife has anything to do with his football? Sounds more like you have a personal grudge!

Staines you fool, only you could try and make yourself look good after making a vile comment. I presume seedal doesnt know you as staines rebel or you wouldnt have made the comment, your just as anon as most people on here dont know you by face.

The fact is you issued a belated apology only after lots of people said you were out of order, its not as if it pricked your conscience over the last 24 hours since you made the remarks, still as you are someone to who it has to be pointed out to then its better than nothing. an apology directed to the player and his wife would have been more appropiate.

Well your kids probably heard "Seedel is a [****!!****]" being chanted along with everything else that got thrown at him so dont get all high and mighty! Another dig at seeds i see!!! Maybe you should ask every slough, windsor and football fan not to swear? Or just dont take your kids if you dont want them to see that stuff?

What is this fascination with Seedals wife?? this isn't the first time she's been mentioned on here, is it any wonder he gave you the old hand gesture.

If your going to abuse somebody fine but don't bring their family or partner into it, that quite frankly is pathetic.

Perhaps you should get off your high horses, during Sat's game we were on the receiving end of gestures from both Evans & Harper (Harpers in particular was very inventive) but we don't have a problem with that, we gave them some stick and they gave some back. Fair play.

Congratulations on the result btw. If you could carry that form on into next week it would be much appreciated.

To be fair, i don't think Ian joins in with the abuse.

Of course in the cold light of day the Seedel stuff is out of order and unnecessary, but its a local derby, things get heated and we got revenge for the defeat at your place and stopped your 18 match unbeaten run. No Slough fan i chatted too expected anything but a defeat, which is why our forum was very quiet before the game with no score predictions or anything.

I was chatting to your supporters afterwards. Infact the only plonker was your manager, who was still moaning to anyone who would listen at 7pm!

As for the crowd, it's disapointing Windsor didn't bring more and with us being stuck out of town is seriously affecting our gates. Still, it was good to have a bit of atmosphere for once - i'd rather play you lot than North Leigh etc.

To be honest, I have never understood the need to abuse players who have left and gone to another club. Most leave on good terms with no animosity. One minute we love them, the next they come in for stick. Whilst often good humoured banter, often it isn't. Occasionally it may be due to the circumstances surrounding their departure but on the whole it is totally ungrounded. I don't knwo what Seeds did to invoke the hostility. Likewise many others.

Maybe we should take a lesson from Ice Hockey. Last night two players who were with the Jets played for the opposition. Both we greeted warmly by the fans when they came on the ice and then came over to the fans at the end and applauded them.

Maybe then my kids wouldn't be subjected to watching the players (who are supposedly role models) making gestures to the crowd. (This isn't a dig at him, just an observation)

Anyway, great result, well done lads.

I always think that swearing and verbal abuse is worse than any hand signal in that there is a chance that children dont see it and might not know what it means anyway but constant swearing is worse,i know people will say you go to a football match you have to expect it but given that football is becoming a more family event with young children i dont really think its acceptable.

I dont go to a match to hear some loudmouth f ing and blinding. Again some people might say for older kids its not as if its words they dont already know but for the younger ones its them we have to think about.

Thanks Warren and Sue for speaking on my behalf. As they say I don't/didn't join in with the anti-Seedel chanting and don't really have an idea why he came in for such stick. I was just questioning whether we should expect a similar apology from the player himself seems as Windsor fans (mostly anonymous) seemed to gang up and demand one from Staines Rebel. The dig was at the Windsor fans getting on their high horses, not at Matt Seedel.

As Kay pointed out, it's very different at the ice hockey and much more family orientated. That's part of the reason I spend more time there these days than watching football.

Ian i was told by a Slough fan that Slough fans we singing songs about Seed's wife aswell. I think he is in the right and i think we are in the right to be offended by Staines Rebel too, although that matters put to bed now!

These are just average joes playing football and mostly because they love the game. If people said what they said to players outside the safety of a football ground they'd expect a fight!

You are right woody these people hide behind being at a football match and say its only banter, seeds im sure has broad shoulders to take abuse directed at him but to insult your wife is another thing.

Because its someone elses wife they dont think how they would like it if it was done to them in a public place. If the windsor fans had abused a slough players wife etc i would be saying the same thing. As woody said its been put to bed, unless of course you bring it up again.

Windsorian, whilst playing for Windsor & Eton, Chuck Martini made a series of insulting comments towards my mother. My reaction was to laugh hysterically at him, and did so for the rest of the match as from that point on he lost it, and so did Windsor - 4-1.

Seedel has previously made threats at a Slough supporter - which doesn't put him high on too many Christmas card lists. If he gets abuse that is a bit on the personal side, hard lines really.
