Capital League Staff

As you will see, the major change is the Capital League instead of a reserve team playing in the Essex and Hearts Border League.

'Bim' has retired and all due thanks and best wishes go to him from the players and the staff.

Dimitri Kharine will continue as 1st Team Goalkeeper and also continue with his coaching role with the keepers.

T Glynn and P Gredley have elected to go onto pastures new and the Club would like to thank them both for all their efforts and hard work and wish them well for the future.

Players contracts are under discussion now and more information will be given in that respect in due course.

It is understood that the club are interested in four new players for next season and once again more information will be forthcoming in due course.

I see trouble ahead, Vinnie and Mr Borg do not see eye to eye. This could mean another move for Vinnie, I know Stortford have a buy back clause with Hornchurch.

Quote:
Vinnie is under contract and will play for HFC next year, he has no problem with Mr Borg, non of the players do.

I think, knowing George from his Enfield days, that the word 'yet' has been left off the end of that sentence <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I think you've done well there. George knows the Ryman Premier inside out.

Can I embarrass Glen Dyson by saying I used to play him in the Romford Table Soccer League many years ago. He had a million brothers who also used to play.

He obviuosly got his tatical awareness by those games against me. I also played aginst him once in the Havering Five- a sides and scored a cracking goal.

Peter Gredley is a great coach and will be very sorely missed at the club. Lovely bloke and deserves a chance at bigger things, don't drift out of the game Peter.

No way mate, I drove it low into the corner from 35 yards (do you have 35 yds on a five a side pitch?).

It was the Subbuteo goal that went in off me knee.

your're right. Peter Gredley is a good coach and I remember he was a good player AND he played in the Premier Division !

shame he wasn't wanted.

perhaps he didn't have the t-shirt.

[color:"red"] I have been looking through your web site (something to do when there is no football) and came across this letter regarding the appointment of George Borg as your new Head Coach. During the time that he was in charge at Aldershot, he was always committed to one goal, to get the very best from his players on behalf of Aldershot Football Club. This always showed in his attitude on the sidelines. He kicked every ball with the players and was always disappointed when things did not go well. You could tell from his body language when he felt things had gone well or badly. When he first came to Aldershot, I did not know a lot about him and knew him only by repute and the odd occasions that he had been at the Rec. I quickly saw that he was a committed manager with lots of vocal encouragement when things went well and even more when they didn`t. His success in the first couple of years was very encouraging and he managed to get us promotion from Div.1 to the Premier (This has always been acknowledged to be the hardest league to get out of)

During his last couple of years in charge at Aldershot he seemed to upset a small minority of the fans but I still believe that a majority of the fans were behind him.

Now I understand that he will be at Hornchurch next season, I wish him well and hope that everything works out for as Non-League football is the richer for his involvement

Peter WAS offered a position at the club on the coaching staff, but he turned it down, apparently, it wasn't what HE wanted,

perhaps the people involved in offering the position were more interested in the future of the club than he was.!

there was another issue I understand where some pf Peters family were actively cheering Gt Wakering on the last home game of the season, that was obviously not an issue insomuch as he was offered a job but i'm sure a lot of players and fans were less than happy about that, several players, fans and members commented on it,

obviously for the best when all said and done,

good luck to Peter.
