JIM HALL

I only spoke to Jim a few times but the one thing that stuck out was how trusting he was. One season we decided to sponsor Leon Hunter so we had to speak to Jim for the first time. He put our names down and just told us to bring the money when we remembered - a small gesture, but one that was very kind and trusting.

I hope Jim knew how many people held him in such high regard, and if he didn't I hope his family can take some sort of comfort from how many people are thinking of them.

May Jim rest in peace.

Jim will be sadly missed... a man who always seemed to have a smile on his face, win or lose.

One of my fondest memories of Jim was when he turned up to a match a few years ago boasting about buying a new mobile phone. When he pulled it out of his bag to show us all, he had brought the TV remote control instead! I think Jim, with his cheeky sense of humour, will like the fact I remember him for this golden moment.

I was sad to see this news.

One of my favourite Jim moments was non-footbll. At one of the Christmas or New Year dos some 12 to 15 years ago, Jim and Mrs Jim did the meanest jive I've ever witnessed at New Lodge. Light of foot and swift of spin, the pair were seemingly transported to an earlier time and their performance (or performances that night, this was no one off)would have done justice to any dancefloor.

I was really sad to read this, he will be missed by us norwegian supports too. He always made me feel so welcome when I walked into the clubhouse, and I'm glad that I did that surprise visit to AShford in november, because he was, of course, there too, and I had a little chat with him.

It will certainly feel a bit strange to walk into the clubhouse on february 7th without being greeted by Jim.

R.I.P.
