What are the chances of the game being on on Saturday?

 

I notice that last week was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch and it is forecast to rain Thursday and Friday.

T.C, the groundsman and his four man team are planning to work on the pitch on Friday. The weather forecast has said it will rain on Thursday with dry or light rain on Friday and Saturday's forecast is supposed to be dry!

Despite being one of the best pitches in the C.C.L(now wait for the remarks!) we do have a drainage problem which is not only affecting the 1st and Reserve team games but also our Under 18's girls(sunday's)and Woking Academy's Under 19's side who play at Redding Way on Wednesday.

However the groundsman has said he will do everything in his power to get the game played as we are now starting to get behind in our fixtures, fingers crossed.

I'm assuming you are from Frimley Green then?

fingers crossed indeed. Thanks trentender, you have a great surface, but I know about the drainage problems. When we played there last year it was only just on after a rainey spell. Can you update on Friday?

Just a short note to let you know that the groundstaff have been hard at work down at Redding Way today. The pitch had some standing water this morning, but with a fair wind and no more rain, I am told there is a 50/50 chance of the game being on as it stands now. I am sure the pitch inspection will be as late as practicable to allow the maximum opportunity for the mighty Knappers to crush the infidels from Frimley!

 

Sorry about that TC, got a little carried away!

 

Hope the game goes ahead and is a credit to the CCL and football in general.
