Malc good luck doing the match report! We scored 8 and could of scored more!! Yeah okay Chesham were not the best side in the world but we were quality tonight and dispite the fact the game was over after 15 mins we never stopped apart from just before half time! Exactly what we the fans want to see! Very impressed.

 

However the match cost me a fortune in text messages to Royalists in far flung places!!

WINDSOR 8(EIGHT) CHESHAM 1

 

In a classic example of a game of two halves,Windsor finally managed to scrape unconvincingly into the last four of the county cup.

The first half saw Windsor score three early,fortuitous,goals.

The rest of the first half belonged to Chesham,as they pounded the Windsor goal with a relentless ferocity not seen at the meadow since that time Spud got in amongst the free buffet.

Chesham then scored a fantastical,individualistic goal that was reminiscent of Mexico 1970,the crowd sensed the comeback was on.

Then Windsor scored a lucky fourth,and our dreams of extra time seemed shattered.

 

Windsor rattled in a few more goals in the second half,aided by a Chesham back four who seemed completely unaware that they were involved in a football match.

 

Apparently,Windsor are due to meet a team called "Maidenhead" in the semis.

 

The word on the mean streets of Windsor is they are W**K*RS!

Windsor will beat Slough, I think most of us have conceded that. This season has become a bit of a write-off and things can only get better next season! Surely!

I'd love Slough to make a game of it but unfortunately it won't take long for Windsor to suss out what we're doing and when they do, they will dominate the game. Luckily I might not be able to make it to see for myself!

Last time we won by this much was 8-1 against HARWICH & PARKESTON FC. Before that we beat Ruislip manor 8-2.

Well, Windsor's 2nd 4th and 6 goals were lucky, the 3rd 5th and 7th should clearly have never been allowed but have to concede the 1st and 8th were acceptable. Bejesus what a performance, well done to the team for an example of just what we are capable of.

Scotty has proved to me that we have a squad and not just a starting eleven, I will take 3 points from Saturday however we get it but a repeat of the home scoreline would not be unwelcome and the players should feel proud of the team effort tonight.

Maidenhead who? I hear many Windsor fans say after a game most of us will not forget in a hurry.

Bring on Slough and lets have a repeat of tonight!!

I'm still wondering if I'm dreaming. That was just incredible, it wasn't as though Chesham played especially badly, they didn't give up and they didn't make an unusual number of mistakes (not for this level anyway). Just so much that we did worked perfectly.

And to think we actually missed another 4-5 good chances as well... scary.

 

I'm also very glad I thought I might just come down to the game tonight, as after all the last few Tuesday games we were rather good and I'd hate to miss another...

 

Do you think we could have all our games on Tuesday evenings from now on?

My dad says we beat Henley Town 17-0 many moons ago but I am not sure if it was same level though.

It must of been a cold night for the fans that did make it!

Seems quite a generous man i seem to remember reading that during cheshams matches in other cups that he would refund the coach fare if chesham lost. I wonder as supporters how many would actually go down and say yes i want a refund.

Very honest, giving money back due to management and team errors, and the game was even played!!! Just wondering, who do you think he was digging at with the insinuation that not all clubs declare their pay, pay their insurance etc...? Is there some bitterness from elsewhere or was it a dig at us as we spanked them 8-1?

And at least their fans stayed to the end, unlike the Didcot lot who left at 2-0 apparently.

Looks to me like a very sincere and heartfelt letter. And that's a very generous offer, given it probably means he'll ultimately be footing the bill himself... Honourable chap.

 

As for the taxes etc, it doesn't seem exactly related. I don't think this would especially be a dig at WEFC, although it does sound like he had some particular team(s) in mind.
