saturdays performance

can anyone tell me what the performance was like on saturday as i cant make away games i use this forum for an honest view.

For what my view's worth...

 

Wiseman had a generally good game - made a couple of very good saves including a blinder late on from a quick free kick, but blotted his copybook a bit misjudging where the ball was going for our first goal (appeared to be confidently watching it wide, but the ball crept inside the post).

 

Defence was often at 6s and 7s. As I understand it, you were missing one or two regulars, which may go some way to explaining it, but there seemed to be some level of panic when Green shirts ran into space with the ball or a wide ball was played into the box. Clearances were a little rushed at times, which didn't help going forward.

 

Up front, there was a lot of hard work, but not too much end product. A spell early in the second half aside, I didn't feel we were threatened often - certainly clear cut chances were few and far between (not that they necessarily flowed at the other end!). There was a penalty late in the first half, but Davidson hit the post and the ball spun wide.

 

All that said, the play in the middle third looked pretty good. Perhaps less functional than ours, but I'd say that there was more 'football' played - it just wasn't to as much effect as our slightly less cultured tactics on the day. Midfield also battled hard and won the ball on a number of occasions with some heavy - but more than legit - challenges.

A good analysis Hendonboy. I would have used few words, and most of them would have to be removed!!

 

Our worst performance in the Ryman Prem in my opinion.

I think the Horsham and Tonbridge performances would run that one close but in fairness considering where Hendon are in the league, we were rather poor.

I also couldnt make the game against hendon but from what ive been told the defense were shambolic to say the least.I have since read the report and see moore and patten were both on the bench!!! When we have been at our best this season they have been the pairing at the back.I see this as no coincidence, although i will admit moore has not been performing aswell of late.If patten is unfit/injured why is he on the bench???
