I expect just one thing when I turn up to a Billericay game - that the players go out there and give 100%. I don't expect us to win every game, but I do expect us to try to. I do expect us to want to. I can even say that I've been around the club long enough to know that once or twice a season we will have "an off day" where nothing goes right. I can accept that. What I cannot and will not accept is coming away from yet another away game with the solid and unshakable conviction that the players have not given everything in the search for a win.

Am I being unreasonable here?

Its not a case of being unreasonable at all. Thats what all good support is about.

about 200 Clarets went to Newport County two Saturdays ago. 9 points in the lead and playing relegation material. We got absolutely thumped. Suprisingly, those that travelled did not moan much but those behind a key board did, with some really silly postings. Our car was very quiet on the way home!!!

Lesson: Just enjoy your Saturdays, enjoy the game, get frustrated, its all part of th fun. what will be will be. We'll all be there next Saturday wont we!!!?

I have to agree with Gary, and, you never know what is happening in the dressing room - injuries/flu or whatever!!

Another frustrating & ultimately disappointing result - I agree winning isn't the whole point (but it helps !) but to see us outplay a team & STILL not win.........Even ever-reliable Bill didn't quite spark & therein may be the key - This guy ALWAYS puts in 100% which can't be said for the others.

Even our Chairmen appears to be disillusioned (see today's blog) & he is 'going to address it' - I really hope so !

Unfortunately we are in a downward spiral - poor results = less supporters = less revenue = less players etc.

Let's get behind em but I can't help thinkin if Bill goes, then what ?

I know one man don't make a team etc but he is a real diamond.

Some consolation (?)I overheard one of the Harrow supporters comment 'How the hell did we win THAT won ?!'

'nuff said.

I dispair...I really do.

If anyone wants to know what a downward spiral feels like, ask those who supported the club when we got relegated two seasons on the trot. Or ask the people who were involved with the club the season Rod Moore (previous Chairman) left. There are plenty around to ask. They were downward spirals and we are as far removed from that. People are working hard to ensure the club do not go through that again.

As for Billy going? I think that if he went higher that would help the club. More cash around to buy in players (not that I don't rate him or wish him to go).

Lets get a reality check here. We have games in hand, a good squad of players and people who want to win and do well. So we lost two games on the bounce...there is still plenty of the season left to play for.

Gazza,

I don't think you should dismiss the dissapointment and frustration that todays supporters are experiancing, just because you were around when things were a lot worse yesterday! You sound like my old Grandmother teling me how hard it was in her day (Joke evil )!

Within the context of the last few seasons, and that's how things will be judged by any recent converts, we expect a lot more. Of course things could also be a lot worse. But that doesn't actually make me feel much better!

Anyway, you've got LF on side, so you myst be wrong smile

Onwards to Waltham Abbey and hopefully the response from the team that we know they're capable of.

Whinging is when the refs a cheat, the oppo were thugs or (for LF as he's lurking) the grass is too long.

Call this self appraisal; soul searching.

A desire to see us reach our full potential.

Rick,

I do not underestimate the sense of disapointment but to accuse players not wanting to win is just silly... IMO.

I was disapointed yesterday as was the car load of people that I took but we just left the ground and went and discussed the next game. No over the top recriminations. No bouts of "I am never going to a game again this season". I do know that may sound as if we are are not normal but all the talk of a downward spiral...is beginning to sound like yesterday was the end of the world. It wasn't. If people look at our performances since Ashford, they have been good and we have improved since then. Yesterday, we were physically muscled out of the game.

And yes, a desire to reach our full potential would be nice. And keep it.

Just away from the fact that we lost the game and that we were 2nd best for big periods of the 2nd half i would like to point out that Harrow must have the worst attendances. I can recall only one team that had worse and that was Leyton when they were in the RPL.

ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!

WE ARE GETTING NOWHERE COMPLAINING ABOUT IT WE CAN'T WIN THEM ALL!

WE JUST HAVE TO PICK OURSELVES UP AGAIN QUICKLY!!!

NOW LETS UNITE AND SMASH THE URCHINS!

It could have been a lot worse, we could have dropped more places. But we are only 5 points away from relegation, I know we all want to look up the table, but we need to look down it sometimes.

And although we have games in hand, we still need to win them.

Of course I would like to see the team do well and like everyone else, I would have wanted us to be in a playoff position at the end of this season, but I don't think we will.

Speaking to Tony 'Tash' on the phone, he also wants me to put this paragraph for & from him, he says - things will not change untill new personnell arrive - playing or otherwise. Fed up with non achieving players who simply do not try. I bet they are not slow to pick up their wages. Some simply did not deserve to be paid for Saturday's disaster.

I agree with Si this performance can rank alongside hastings etc.

Not wishing to be disrespectful to Harrow but they were the worst side we have played and in their words we overan them. So why did we lose? I think it is a problem we have had most of the season. We have created chances but not put them away. How often have we said we should have been 3 up in the 1st 15 mins then gone on to draw or even lose. We didnt play badly it was almost the same team as against Dover where we once again would have at least drawn if we had put away our chances and not made silly defensive errors. We work hard we close down and in the main the players give every effort although as in any team players dont always perform to their best but we lack the killer instinct.

How do we get it? Perhaps we lack one player who will provide that missing link and instill it in others but with the squad we have i dont think anyone stands out as that player. Not easy to find such a player but we must in my opinion start looking as we will carry on next season the same as the last few if we dont find someone to inspire the team to finish off the opposition

The masochists amongst us can view the Harrow goals here

Sorry delboy how can "not putting away our chances" and "silly defensive errors" be anything other than playing badly?

PS

I bet Tash is back within a fortnight

Nail on the 'ead Delboy !

With respect Gaz, we appreciate 'things could be a lot worse' but the really annoying thing is that we also know this team is capable of a hellavu lot more - My point is that if Bill can give 100% then why don't the others ? They rarely come close. Apart from not scoring from our chances we really lack a midfield dynamo - Somebody that can really kickass which we haven't had for years - Maybe we should put Bill there & take our chances ?

If we are to achieve any success other than relegation avoidance then action must be taken quickly.
