Cherst v Bed Green

The burden of proof will be on Ashford. Who's to say that when they sat down to dinner and bruv hears what other bruv has been offered he made the approach with I would like some of that. I find it interesting that the league tried to block one registration, would that have happened if a certain secretary not been on the CCL management board?

Yep Krooner,

I did hear there was an approach to a BGFC player on the back of a beer mat after they beat them 5-0 plus various other charges,, I have no problem with anyone signing for any amount of money but there are rules for a reason and we should abide by them..This has also gone to the FA now and they also have a record of the other incidents ..so lets watch what happens. I think it is great for the league to have quality players playing week in week out for the spectators and to hopefully make our league one of the strongest level 5 in the country..

Statement on Ashford Town's official website reads:

"It is now confirmed that both Gavin and Stuart Bamford have left the club to join Chertsey Town.

To clarify a few rumours that have been going round, the Club wish both players well and thank them for their past services. Irrespective of our own financial situation, they received an offer from Chertsey Town which they decided to accept

I agree Weeble we should abide by them but in my experience at this level very few charges of illegal approaches stick or are dealt with any firmer than a rap on the knuckles. Time will tell us on this.

'Rules have to be made because they WILL be broken' ??

As I alluded to in my previous post there might have not been an approach at all. If the second brother made the approach to Chertsey as he's quite entitled to do Then Chertsey won't need to put in an approach for him would they. Players not under contract can offer their services as they like.

Therefore as their was only one approach they probably have not fallen foul of any rule.

FACT-

CTFC made a perfectly legitamate approach for Gav Bamford. His brother then approached us through Gavin to come with him and on Wed last the manager of Ashford Town regretfully accepted this as NEITHER player for starters had been paid for two weeks.

Both players were correctly signed for the League and the League have no issue with it.

Only when A certain Bedfont Green player decided to stir it up was there any issue at all, quite simply he did not want the Bamfords to play against them in such a big game.

If any allegations by Ashford are made (and as such relations between the clubs are fine and no such complaint has been made) then they will be defended and perhaps the Ashford Town situation will become public.

CTFC have NOT been charged with any illegal approaches this season. They have been charged with a breach of putting in a second 7 day approach within 28 days as this was unknown to them . However Bedfont Green allowed the said player to discuss such a move which he rejected. If CTFC had done an illegal approach then we would not have bothered to put in a 7 day request in writing of which our error is totally accepted.

However it is a FACT that Bedfont Green are being charged with an illegal approach for a CTFC player where one of their management staff tried to tap up a player-a much more serious offence that can lead to a deduction of points.

For the record CTFC are obeying all the rules as they understand them and anyone that knows the Club secretary will know that to be true. I am sick of reading all this gossip and plain jealousy-get on with it.

In the end it just contributed to an excellent game on sat that although we clearly deserved to win you can do nothing but applaud the fantastic defending and spirit of Bedfont Green and a man of the match performance by Pearcey in goal that was quite brillant-performances like that win titles although a number of sides, including us will be chasing them hard until May.

Have you read the Ashford Town website (I did paste the official statement further up) and listened to the interview with their manager Mark Butler? I wouldn't say "relations between the clubs are fine". Anyway I know and like the Bamfords very much, two great players who our club wishes all the best to.

Re Pearcy, I can't be bothered to bitch with you over the phone call made by CT to him on 12/09/08, you will only deny it and make something else up.
