The goals this team get aren't lucky but fully deserved whenever I've watched them. More a case of "unlucky" not to be 5 or 6 every time they play. They open teams up for fun. Football played that's great on the eye.

Another great afternoon on the reserve front. Another scoreline that doesn't tell the full story of our team's total dominance of the match.

I could be wrong but I can only remember Darren Goldsack having to make one real save all game. This is due to the whole team's work ethic of closing down when losing possesion and playing such good football, mainly on the floor, and passing it all around The Park. Left to right and back to front.

The lads at the back (Harker, Nick Treadwell, Ollie, Curtis Robinson and Elliot Payne) look very solid and next to impentrable.

The Oltinator in the middle of the park has got a none stop engine and just keeps winning ball all day long, in turn giving it simple to feet. Joe Taylor playing the target man just above him. Again keeping it simple, holding the ball well, and laying it off to both our flanks. Paul Axon down the right and both Curtis and Elliot interchaging down the left.

Put this all together with the speed merchants up front in Kenny Pratt and Shane Brown (who must go down as my most improved player of the season, to date, in my eyes).

Curtis scored the only goal of the game after going on a long mazy run down the left, cutting in. Laying the ball off in a simple one, two. Receiving it again on the edge of the box and slotting it past the keeper.

We had countless chances spurned. Three spring to mind. Two produced by Shane's out and out pace, once he's beaten the off-side trap there's no catching him. Yet the keeper produced 2 terrific saves from 2 equally well struck shots. One in the 1st half and one in the 2nd. The third fell to Joe Taylor in the first half, who normally dispatches his chances so well, but dragged it just wide.

Others in the team had drives at goal but their keeper kept dealing with them. Their keeper must go down as Man Of The Match because if it wasn't for him we'd all have had an abacus out, trying to keep the score.

Dartford huffed and puffed for a 20 min spell in the second half but our lads looked like they were in total control all game.

Two subs late on Chris Lewis and Jonny Greaves coming on for Kenny and Shane.

Great comradery amongst our supporters, and good to see so many friendly faces back for the New Year.

Plus, I could be wrong, but I think it's the quarter finals of the Kent Cup, down in Folkestone, for these lads next week. If they keep playing the way they are, they should go all the way to lifting it. Not bad as they seem to have been drawn away from home in every round so far.

Great and enthusuastic report.

Thanks

Felt the passion and glee at the success all the way down here in Gloucestershire.

A strong side put out with a fair bit of first team experience in it

Interesting that Robinson played for reserves and wheatley was first team sub.

I agree with TSO's report. Hats off to their Keeper. He was vocal and commanded his area. His two saves from one to ones with Shane in the centre of the area were straight from the text book. Neville would have been proud of those. This kid deserves a look.

What TSO didn't mention was the physical way Dartford tried to play, Margate beat this by playing quick accurate football. The physical side came to the for near the end when the Darts no2 was shown a red for head butting Curtis Robinson. Although Curtis was lucky to only get a yellow for retaliation.

What really stood out for me was, not only as john states the great camaraderie but the shear enjoyment that poored from the kids.

After All it is a game, and games should be enjoyed.

Just giving the lads games. Better than sitting on the bench all season.
