Yeah i saw that about Berko. A few years ago they were shelling out money left right and centre to try and get up to the ryman prem , and had some decent players , but when they didnt go up one year , the manager left , nearly all the squad left , and they have been on a slippery slope since. Nice ground and had some great games against them. My first ever ryman league start was away at Berko in a 1-0 win , with Tony Sibanda ( legend !!) scoring !!

Remember a 3-3 up there with a Danny Benstock hat trick in the first half.

And another club in troubled posted in their local online newspaper today -

Beaconsfield Sycob FC will not survive as a Southern League club unless they receive immediate help from volunteers and the people of Beaconsfield town, according to chairman Bob Breen.

Really sad to hear that. A few years ago my then girlfriend's father was the manager of Hertford Town and I was roped into going to Berkhamstead one August evening. Lovely club and a vociferous support. Superb chip shop in the town centre too.

Very surprised to hear that as, at the time, it seemed to be the epitomy of a well-run club who could only progress. I hope the they can reform in some capacity.

I remember Wade Falana (who had worse navigational skills than TB&G) going to Hemel Hempstead instead of Berko.. still, he did come on as sub and hit a second-half hat-trick.

Another classic he added to his CV that season was going to Reading instead of Yeading.. doh
