The lord has to be pat mullins dad because a friend of mine, who supports Maidstone, says that he used to go on their forum under a false name and always defend the Goalie, which was pat at the time.
He says that he also said that you should speak to the players face to face if you had a problem with them.

What a sad git, if you don't like what you read about your son Mr Mullins, then dont come on this forum.

Does it really matter who he is, he is still entitled to his opinion on here. As I said earlier I personally find the best way is to speak face to face after game and believe me Pat is very approachable.

Right time for me to enlight some of you on the art of goalkeeping and confidence and yes I can only go from my own experience.

I've been a keeper since I was 10 and for those of you that do not know, this is actually my 19th year. I never got the chance to play any higher than Premier division Sunday premier league but in those 12 seasons of playing Senior football I have played with many great players and some truely dreadful ones.

Goalkeeping is all about confidence.

When I started playing in the Sunday Premier league I was physically at a disadvantage (weight and height) but some of the lads and management at Marco United and Ramsgate Albion (Saturdays)brought me on, encouraged me and got what I believe was the best I could give them at that time. I then went on to Thanet Colts where we won many league and cup honours.

More recently I have played for sides that have not encouraged and have been quick to criticise. Thats when my game's taken a tumble and the silly mistakes come in. Now playing for the DeVille I am playing at my best again and certainly had one of my best seasons last. Similar to Mullins, I suffered a bad ankle injury in the cup final last season and have struggled to get my confidence back. I am only just starting to get back to my best.

With keepers it really annoys me that people always remember your mistakes and never remember those great saves that you make. Does anyone praise Mullins if he makes an out of this world save. Does anyone have anything to say about the players that may put these keepers in the position of making a howler.

What i'm saying is Pat knows when he's made a howler as I do. We are the last line of defence and lets face it, when we make a mistake it normally costs the team.

Pat is a good keeper. Give him confidence instead and you may be impressed by him. Constantly get on his back and his confidence will take a tumble and thats not what you need when you're second from bottom.

Sorry this is long winded but I really feel strongly about this sort of thing.
