With respect, if you all think that any player gets wound up easily what good will having a go on here do if it is seen by the player?

Whoever the goalie is, i do agree it is a key position, and we undoubtedly had our best spell of the season when butcher was in goal (now at grays).

For me, rather than chase dryden around the county-and i have doubts about him anyway-a quality keeper would be more beneficial

SCS was at the Dover game , was talking to Cookie for a while . The thing is and i can`t say anything about Beresford because i have not seen him play but is he good enough to cope with the pressure of a very hard relegation run in or do we spend out on a keeper who is able to do a quality job for us , this will obviously cost so would that make us unable to buy the frontman we need , a very hard choice , really something that should have been looked at alot earlier . Id personally like to see a new striker who can bang in the goals then maybe he can send a bit of confidence through the squad and buck everyone up and get them playing the way we all know they can . I think though looking on next yr TY will be shifting alot of the squad out and bringing in the right players and i bet the one`s we have know this already . Up the Gate .

Problem is, re the goalkeeper, we don't have two keepers challenging for a place, at least that is the way it seems to me given the fact that when Pat Mullins was injured we had Lee Butcher on loan as well as SCS.

Last year was the same, SCS seemingly first choice with Bowles as cover but not really challenging for a place.

Two seasons back we had SCS and Charlie Mitten both challenging for a place and prior to that we had Charlie v Phil Smith etc.

I guess that it is all down to cost of course.

have to agree with you,the main problem is the lack of goals.

so easy for these so called suporters to get on the band wagon and blame the keeper.

having said that there have been errors but pat mullin will also no that,my own opion is the critics are in a little bit early?,any body who watched pre season had no doubt mullin was the best keeper at the club, unfortunatly there was a little thing like a broken foot and it is since then that mistakes have been made.

have to wonder how many of these critics/suporters where behind his goal when he had the nerve to say what he thought of them when they where slanging of the margate boy who was injured.

as a passing thought to some of you critics/ suporters, after the next home game why don't approach the players and pass these comments on face to face instead of hiding behind a poison pen.

My answers to this thread are s follows:

1.Do I think MFC will ever get out of this mess?

Yes but only with big change to its directors. ( I believe Dover had to do this after its troubles a few years back )

2.Will the ground ever get built?

No not all the time we have a Conservative Council and and no changes to the current board of directors.

3.Will we get relegated?

Yes I believe we will now. I had high hopes for some of the players but some just haven't impressed enough. There will need to be big changes next season throughoutthe whole club, for us not to fall further aswell!!!

4.Will the side ever look settled?

Yes but not in the near future.

Ok you've got me Coffin ender. I'm a keeper and know Mullin although we're not mates. I used to train with him at youth level. If he was at fault today he should hold his hands up and say he was. I know he's not great but he is one of the best locally. When it comes to height with keepers. I don't feel you have to be tall. I'm only 5ft10. I do only play sunday league though.

Icame to most of the games last season including the evening reserve games where Matt Bowles was given a run out.Saturday they always had scs was number one Matt Bowles sub, didn't matter how he played, until the last game where Bowles was given a full game and if I remember he ot MOM then told he would be figting for the first team jersey, only for the club to mess him around like most of the younger players. I haven't seen him since until I was up at Jackey bakers on a sunday where he told me the club kept messing him about with false promises he didn't know where he stood. Another young keeper with a good prospect let go, I was talking to Neville who said he would be the next number one one day not now, how many more we going to lose.

One thing I do agree with thelord is that people should chat to the players in the bar after the game, something I do regularly, most if not all are honest about how they played.

agree with you 100%,if i had an issue with a player i would do the same, trouble is as you say there is allways one or two that will argue there case, but if you realy get to these individuals i believe you will find they are gutted just the same as the supporters are, this is why i believe open criticism

is not helping at the moment.
