not the best scoreline we would have wished for but these things happen in footie....bit worrying that we have shipped 10 goals in 2 games but colin will be more upset than anyone tonight and he'll analyse it and deal with it....

I am not making light of it as its a poor result but we'll move onwards and hopefully have a good day out and a result on saturday...

The early goals, inside two and inside five minutes, killed the game and are the difference in pace and sharpness between full time strikers and part time defenders when the ball is played on the ground.

All of the Colchester outfield subs but none of the starting XI at MK Dons were involved in tonight's game, which is what a reserve team is for.

There are 26 full pros at Colchester at present, and only a couple are injured so tonight's team started with 10 pros, a couple of whom have not made a 1st team appearance, and an apprentice and replaced three of the pros, including the two who had 30 mins and 5 mins respectively at MK Dons, with three more apprentices after an hour.

If the poster above doesn't think most of the teams within a dozen points of 6th place aren't still in with a reasonable chance of reaching the play offs he doesn't watch much Division 1 football. There's no particularly all round outstanding teams or individual players who are so far above the rest as to be virtually unstoppable. On the evidence of Monday for example 2nd place MK Dons are little more than two big central defenders, two big strikers and a long throw.

4th goal the individual run down the left and rounding the keeper - a second for Jamie Guy

5th the shot from distance that your keeper probably thought was going wide - a second for Sam Corcoran

I'm primarily the U's youth team programme editor which I've been doing for a long time and I remember a previous visit of Dale Brightly's. He was keeping goal behind a poor youth team and our mutual old boy Lloyd Opara put a hat-trick past him.

Dave Gregory's official title is Communications & PR Officer. He's the other half of our Media/Press Department with Matt Hudson.

I assume the comments refer to signage off the A12 at the A120 junction which isn't a direction I travel very often. I'll try and remember to have a look on the way back next time I venture into Suffolk. Signposting is down to the Council and their signs pointedly say Weston Homes Community Stadium not Colchester United to emphasis whose ground it is. Making the ground as difficult to get to as possible seems to be a point of honour with them.

The ground is only sign posted after you take the Industrial Site exit. But this turn off is easy to miss and you end up back on the A12.

Take some positives. out of the game.

Quite a spirited 2nd half performance from the lads.

Seemed to lack a few ideas in the final 3rd, but we haven't played a competitive game for ages.

Performance was not as dissappointing as the Harlow game.

If we keep the spirit shown we will be in the shake up at the end of the season.

Ryman League cup is still there for the taking.

By all accounts Man U played worse than us last night.
