why should they take a pay cut unless they have been at the club all there life and the club means something to them then fair does but, why would a player take a cut when he could go to another club

Perhaps other clubs have their own financial problems and may not have room for a player who is selfish enough to want more money than his present club can currently afford!

But then there are many clubs, particularly at Step 5, who do not pay wages or even expenses in some cases so this downturn should not apply to them unless they have a significant fall in home gate money and thus bar takings etc.

look there are not many players that care about anything else but money, there are players on the bench and getting good money and a club like ilford, etc could offer them first team footy, but that player would say forget that im getting 100 pounds for setting on the bench its the world we live in
