Well Tickner was very poor and it did'nt take much to slice through him on Tuesday, then when he came off we lost Stephenson in central midfield which allowed some vulnerability, but a goal would and could have helped us kick on a bit.

The system SB has introduced since his input allows for 3 central midfielfers and two wide players, the problem I felt was that Edgar should have been one of the wide players but thats when Ellis returns, who will be the ideal target man, and yes Hammond was very effective when he came on and possibly should have done straight after the 2nd goal went in

Precious Koko!!!??? bigshock Precious is a girl's name!!!??? confused2 Was this mixed football then??? evil2

I had this convo with a couple of our supporters and we agreed that for anyone with his name to play the football he is and the standard he is at, then, you've got to be hard.

He was very good on tuesday however to our expense

I have seen Precious play against us a few times playing for various teams and every time i've seen him he has always been a very good player.

Is it us that make him look good?

or is he actually a good player who would be ideal for us!

Both at home & away! Deano is one of those frustrating players for me, its clear he has the talent but it only shines through on odd occasions, I want him to bomb down the wing beating the full backs, which clearly he can do, but he always seems hesitant & holds back, but because I know he has got what it takes I would always put him in the starting 11.
As for Luke for me the jury is still out, im not convinced.

Cant believe that! evil

Gazza-totally agree with Deane and Marshall analysis, Deane had a very good first half chance with just the keeper to shoot past and his shot went miles wide, hey it happens I suppose, but then in the last five mins with us 0-3 down he first produces an undefendable cross for Hammond to score then a pearl of a shot from outside the box moments later.

As for Tickner, on tuesday, he gave a stupid free kick away, then did'nt defend it well for Wingates first goal, got himself booked for an off the ball incident he was lucky not to see red for, mis-judged a ball bouncing in front of him and then letting the ball run through him with a Wingate player looking to pounce, he was having a mare, hence he was rightly substituted at half time.

A matter which does not appear to have been addressed by posters on this thread is the lack of match practice.

Tuesdays game was our first game since Maldon and there were several new players to integrate into the system/style of play. Although Wingate and Finchley had also had some postponements they had played on 3rd January and were a settled side.

We can always look on the down side however the first 15 minutes of the Finchley game and the last 5 minutes gave an indication of what this side can achieve.W and F are challenging strongly for a play off place even runners up or the title. They have only lost twice this season so far so I think all in all there is hope for the future.
