TODAY'S PAPER

According to a report in today's Thanet Times Nathan Bailey has joined on contract 'til the end of the season, TY has also confirmed his interest in Jimmy Dryden from Folkestone.

He has also released Richard Shittu (bit of a surprise there).

It also says later on that Liam Harwood's loan spell has been extended for another couple of months (now that's good news).

To be honest & I may be in the minority here but Shittu's exit is not so surprising to me.In his first game as sub he showed good form. He then scored a good volley & a tap-in but apart from that hasn't really penetrated or even looked like penetrating any defence. Okay, he only played a handful of games & maybe in time he would have come good to more effect but time is something we don't have right now & whilst a change up front dosen't guarantee an improvement its worth a try. Shittu is a big guy & must have looked an awesome figure to some defenders but for me he wasn't doing enough. Is this to make way for Dryden? Who knows!

Harwoods' further loan on the other hand is "SUPER" news BUT we have to use his time here to the full & not waste it.By that I mean we really need to rack up a few points in the extra time that we have him here.
Someone who can score goals, especially during this spell,to finish off the good approach work of late,is a priority.
Hopefully Bailey or Bailey/Dryden will be the answer.

Yorath says Shittu, although looking good against Carshalton and Harlow, looked disappointing against Rams and Dover and he doesn't think we were going to get the right physical presence and link up play you need, hence why he has gone for Bailey who he believes runs the channels well and works hard.

Great news when I read we are keeping Harwood for another couple of months though!

Have to agree with Terry's opinions on Shittu since he's been here. Two good games, then he's been anonymous since. If Bailey offers more, as I'd expect, and we can get Dryden in then it'll be very good business. Can't help feeling that Mo might be feeling a bit hard done by. He's popped up with three crucial goals and has had limited goalscoring opportunities in the games he's played. However tonight I don't know if it's wise to play Healy, Bailey and another striker.
