ive just came across- 12 may 1976,highest ever mid week attendance for a ESL match-887,the temperature was 83 degrees,match started at 6.30,Billericay were the home team but who were the visitors and who was their famous centre forward who put 150 on the gate.

This is a tough one!In March 1983,ESL game between Canvey Island-Heybridge Swifts was watched by someone we know very well.Who was this someone and what he did 10 minutes before half-time?? Who got injured in the game and who was the then Canvey secretary????

Right.He was Rob with wife Margaret and ten minutes before half-time they went to the old tea bar at the south end of the ground with a few other folk but had not still been served when the second half started so they gave up.Heybridge Swifts keeper Dave Danson was seriously injured and the Canvey secretary was John Wellmen who worked very close to Rob in London.
