Can someone let me know on here if the game is on, as soon as there is a decision, as I am planning to attend but have a fair way to travel.

I will pop down the club tomorrow around 3.30pm and do an unofficial pitch inspection and let you know.

 

The pitch will certainly not be frozen. There is no rain forecast tomorrow in Farnboro so i'm very confident the game will go ahead as scheduled.

 

Obviously the decision lies with the ref.

You're right about it being a cracker. The squad is busting to play some football having felt unjustified with a loss and draw in our previous two matches against NGU and Badshot lea respectively. Should have been 3-1 up against NGU at half time but for some poor finishing and the woodwork, then going on to lose 6-1 was demoralising. All over Badshot lea. 2-0 up and cruising only for the ref to give a shocking pen decision which turned the tie. Our forward line will be looking to prove the doubters wrong. The rest of us are dying to play football and know that playing top of the table (tehnically) is crunch time!! We lose this and we go 9 points behind!! We win it and we sit nicely, just 3 points behind. Game on!!

Having looked at the league JJ, Epsom are second, what is the technicallity that makes them top. Thats an honest question not a ribbing.

I have seen Cove over the years at all levels and have always thought of you as a really good, tight side. Having watched Epsom, who use the direct type of play to the big man and clear their lines at all times, it could be an end to end game. I too hope you get three points and bunch it up at the top as that will make for some great watching over the coming months..

The technicality is that they are actually 2nd not 1st. But if they win their game in hand over Bedfont Green then they will go top!

 

There has only really been 2 good sides down at Cove to my knowledge. Last years assembled squad courtesy of Kevin Cooper and the league winning side of 2000/2001.

Other than that they have always been a bottom half of the table team.

 

Being an ex Ash United player i've always hated Cove with a passion but then that was drummed into me the minute i arrived at Ash United. I was there 7 seasons. I could never have forseen me ever playing for Cove. How things have changed. I'm now skipper!!
