.......... a lot better, weather-wise.

05:00 this morning, and there was still quite a heavy frost.

By mid-day, and the weather has warmed up considerably. Lets hope this continues and the heat gets down into the pitches quickly.

Thats the first time I have heard Bedfont's pitch called perfect Mick, and for letting a sunday side play on it, who makes that decision as I would have thought that would get on your nerves

Mick,

I've seen a lot of pitches at a lot of levels and played on most.. I cannot understand how a senior club can allow a sunday match to go ahead on its pitch and for that I can understand your frustration.

I know your pitch is not as bad as some people make out but it could be a lot better if the decision makers did'nt allow sunday matches to be played on it.

Pictures look good GP, hows the drainage holding out this year?

Has it been worth all the hard work put in ...It must have cost a lot of money.

Is seems BGFC are dotted about in a few places.. If the campagne is fruitfull and you achieve promotion would there be a plan in place to centralise the teams and if so at which location.

excuse my ignorance green pea but where are BG based these days, how come you dont use avenue park for CC games? and where is avenue park!!!

Cant deny the progress your side has made in the last few years and it is an inspiration to all. Surrey Legend and myself were part of the Bagshot team that pipped you to the championship back in 02-03 in the old SIL div 2 ( when it was 3 divisions) If i remember correctly you had finished your games and we had 2 left but were 6 points behind and needed to win our final 2 games by 15 goals to get the title.............

We hammered Guildford City Weysiders at home 11-0 and then beat Ripley 4-0 in the final game to win the title!

Hey NLN I was playing in the First Team back then until I was found out and relegated to the Ressies smile Always thought that Guildford CW result was rather suspect smile

To progress at Avenue Park (A40 Greenford) would be very difficult as there is very little room for development on either length of the site due to trees and a public walkway.

Re BGFC location, we have a goundshare at W&E for Firsts, Reserves & U18s are at Avenue Park with our Youth & Social sections having their own ground in Hanworth. Our AFC section runs out of Egham Leisure Centre or Spelthorne Council pitches. We hope to relocate to a site in Bedfont that will allow us to consolidate all sections of the club. Of course, these things take time though...

Despite 4 or 5 successive promotions we exceeded expectations by finishing runners-up in the CCL Division 1 in 2004/05. As we were playing at Ashford Recreation Ground we would have been unable to be promoted and wasn't in an existing groundshare to qualify. However, our resourceful Chairman negotiated an agreement at Avenue Park with the then landlords Brentford Ladies who played Sundays giving us exclusivity on Saturdays and one night a week. Our First Team played out of there for just the one season before moving to Yeading for two years and now Windsor. Re timescales, sorry but only our Chairman can really comment on the details I'm afraid. I know he's happy to share information in the boardroom with other clubs after matches CC so make sure you join us on 7th Feb...
