Break in winter.....

Weeble

Recommended Posts

What do u guys think of a two week break in the winter to try and overcome some of these weather problems..... Seems to me we could catch up by playing some tuesdays after new year to catch up......Which we do anyway due to postponements........

Never got caught offside and never booked.

Not possible to predict when the weather will be bad though Weeble, we had a poor spell beginning of December (rain) then beginning of Jan (frost) do we have an 8 week break ??? nah no point in trying.

Dont forget we had snow beginning of April last year too so take the 1st 2 weeks of evey month off !!!

Looks like undersoil heating as a requirement 4 CCL prem as I am pulling my hair out with no footie on a sat.. I had to speak to the wife today as I was getting in her way as I "should'nt be here on a saturday afternoon"

Whatever next?

Interesting suggestion Weeble. Does that mean we go on for 2 extra weeks at the end of the season ? Not wsure clubs would want to do that exp if they pay players per week rather than game. If not extend the season there is no point as you may as we have just had a 2 week break !

Krooner,

We could reduce the number of teams in the CCL prem by 2 and that would solve a lot of problems..Then canx matches would not have such a massive impact..Remember last season Merstham could not finish their league programme...

What you guys think of that one.

Maybe 1 up and 3 down 1st year then 2 up 2 down year on year.

It makes sence to me but then I think the moon is made of cheese.

As TSF says - 3 up and 3 down.

HOWEVER, we await the usual 'goal-post' rules to be ammended.

Vote for only one place ?? Hardly democratic, but then again, what is in this mad old footy world.

I thought the FA wanted all step 5 leagues down to 20 clubs?

What happened to that idea!!!

My biggest moan about a winter break is that football would probably creep ever further into the cricket season.

I would suggest more regular midweek league matches though that becomes difficult with all the cup football.

Division one (lack of lights) is another issue and maybe that division is too large?

CWUFC entered 5 cup competitions at first team level this season and, although not particularly succesful in most of them (we are still in 2) the county and league cups do take possible league dates away. Any FA Cup or Vase runs add to the problem.

We have played 23 league games this season so far however and are better off than some clubs games wise.

I really don't want to be printing programmes etc throughout May as I am far too busy.
