Saturday matches off

According to the information I have received as at 12.30 all Premier Division matches are off except

 

Cobham v Epsom & Ewell

 

I have not heard anything from Cobham as yet so presume the match is on.

 

In Division One, all matches are off.

 

In the Reserve Division, I have yet to hear from Croydon Res butunderstand from another source that it is off. All others are off

 

In the Reserve Challenge Cup, Worcester Park Res v Staines Lammas Res is off but Knaphill Res v Crescent Rovers Res is currently ON and Crescent have travelled.

 

In response to the comment stating that the League's request not to hold pitch inspections too early is ridiculous, there has been some criticism in recent weeks that matches were being called off too early.

 

With that in mind plus the hope that the anticipated thaw might just arrive in time to allow some matches at least to be played, it was suggested to clubs that they might delay their inspections for a short while. In the event the weather seems colder than ever but to dismiss the suggestion as ridiculous is disappointing as far as I am concerned.

I agree Whitelaw (Alan) I arranged for as late as possible inspection today to give any chance of a thaw as long as possible for our reserve game today without letting the visitors leave and make a wasted journey, knowing really there was know chance from 9am this morning.(in fact I knew lst night)

 

Personally and knowing who much work goes into staging home games to leave it to the match referee when by half time its going to be freezing again as last week was is a waste of money to the club.

Incredably the Knaphill Res v Crescent Rovers Res game has only just been called off by the match official, 10 mins before KO. He passed the pitch playble at a 10.00 pitch inspection.

 

Crescent Rovers are thanked for their indulgence by travelling over to Knaphill.
