He's good enough to play Ryman but does he have the ambition to be tested at higher level? Or is just happy to play for Bas Utd and being a big fish in a little pond?

Speaking from experience I gotta agree with coachie,Craig is one of the nicest lads you could meet (sometimes to nice for his own good) and apart from what he does on the pitch he has a great attitude in the changing room which rubs off on other players,Also gotta agree with CRFC BOSS Craig is more than good enough to play Ryman and I think people would be suprised at the change in his attitude,If as a manager you get Craigs respect then you could not sign a better player imo.

I played with Gillam for half a season, and played against him a few times, and I can confirm:

 

1. Top lad on and off the pitch

2. He is easily good enough to play Ryman, he is a great finisher. Just doesn't have the commitment or desire to play higher.

3. The quickest player I have played with/against!

4. Needs to feel like he is the main man, and needs to be told that fairly regularly. If not he will get itchy feet and leave.

Craig is a quality goalscorer, every club he's ever played for will tell you that.

 

So what is keeping him at Basildon Utd FC, maybe it's because John Moran (Basidon Utd Chairman) is his boss at Basildon Hospital!!!

 

Could deffo play at a MUCH higher level. If he had Paul Benson's dedication/ambition then I'm sure he could have played pro.
