Presuming the game is on...even though Friday night tempratures are said to drop to -3...

My team pick for the game would be as follows:-

Tucker

Marron, Duncan, Heffer, Dumas

Ferguson, Wayne S, Deane, Dormer

Flack, Bricknall

Subs: Hunter, Cole, Burbs, BWG, Worster

Difficult picking Wayne over Hunter and not one I would do lightly as both have performed well over the past couple of games but Wayne travels better with the ball. Having Leon on the bench gives us cover to freshen the midfield up if we need to. I would still pick Dormer on the left over BWG as IMO, we get better results away when we go "narrow" and allow Dumas to go forward with Dorms covering, when required.

Tim Cole has yet to play since he has come "back" from injury so, I would keep the back four consistant but I would bring him in if we were defending a slim lead and needed to "shore" up the defence.

Flackie and Brickers pick 'emselves.

Looking forward to it...I am at present going through "cold turkey" (excuse the festive pun) with the lack of footie.

A major disappointment to see Deane go in my view.

I was under the impression Deane was happy here so would imagine it must be to get the money down a bit.

I suspect we won't see as many contracts dished out next season so we avoid barmy situations like this developing in future.

That said I do strongly believe we have to operate within our means although I'm still surprised he was top of the list.

Any news of when Gameo may be fit to return?

I agree with everyone about Adrian. He will be a big loss!

I thought he linked up very well with Ferguson, a good ball passing player, with most of his ball touches and control being good, and he played excellent forward balls.

I think he was probably one of the players we would have liked to have seen stay with us for the rest of the season, and possible in the future. He was definately well rated so I agree with JL about the reason being the money issues.

Well I guess that tomorrow looks like being another football-free saturday frown

Disappointed Adrian Deane has gone, but for me he played best when Dormer switched to wide midfield - we looked too lightweight with Deane in centre mid and 2 out-and-out wingers on the pitch. Given that wingers are probably our strongest area, it's not a great surprise that he's gone. It does put a lot of pressure on Dormer to stay fit, which is a bit of a worry.

We've obviously got to balance the books - don't forget that Deane came in when Hunter and Flack had been put on the list. Both are still here so we need to cut some players elsewhere. Like JL I'm sure lessons will be learnt for next season - fewer contracts and fewer injury-prone players.

I too am sorry to see Adrian go. a good footballer and served us well when we were in need. I wish him well. Lets hope Gameo is back soon and we can really put a spurt on. that is if the weather lets us. Latest temp in and around Ruislip is -2.2 at 7pm expected to drop to -6 before rising to a high of +3 at kick off time.

got to be a major doubt imho.
