Taken from the Non-League Daily website:-

FTL Futbol Hellenic League Premier Division club Flackwell Heath have pulled off a major coup in re-signing current Slough Town captain James Pritchard.

The attack-minded midfield player, who the British Gas Business Southern League Division One South & West outfit signed from Uxbridge in March 2008, will be available for Saturday's home game against Pegasus Juniors.

Pritchard (pictured) originally joined Uxbridge from Beaconsfield SYCOB, having been a product of Marlow's youth system. He has also represented Wokingham Town, Flackwell Heath and Maidenhead United, and whilst at Marlow he made over 300 appearances, scoring in excess of 100 goals.

Pritchard links up again with former team-mate Matt Flint at the Heathens and will take on the role of player/assistant-manager.

Manager Flint has also been boosted by the return to training of Adam Morris and Adam Davis who both return from injury.

Further signings are also expected ahead of Saturday's game.

Probably more to this than meets the eye as usual!! Was a good player for us and will be sorely missed. What the .... is going on? I know he now has the chance to be asst manager, but they are struggling in Hellenic premier for crying out loud.

What the **** is happenning, first glen harris is allowed to go and now the captain leaves. Cant help thinking the players dont have confidence in the management to sort it out.

Perhaps pritchard thought maybe it was a move sideways rather than a move down. And it does mean assistant management.

Express says that Matt Flint is his cousin so you can see why he was tempted if he really wants to get into management

however its a shame we are not going better than we are in the league in which case we might have convinced him to stay maybe

anyway Sweets you gotta find a similar replacement from somewhere and quick. no way can we not replace Pritchard and pretend we can make do instead

WTF!!! I'm astonished. Pritch may have had a slight dip in form in recent weeks but he is still our most potent attacking midfielder, with great control, passing and the ability to finish moves off in a composed manner. I can't believe he has gone to Flackwell. So disappointed.

so Durrant and Rids gone too

back to a thread bare squad

lets hope Sweets can get some in sharpish. is there not any possible loan options?? other teams in this league seem to get in promising players on loans. loans aint ideal but short term a good solution at least

Gutted, absolutely gutted.

Best of luck to him though, he was a great player for us, looking pretty good even when the rest of the team weren't playing well.

Sweetman needs to act to fill this hole now, he will be sorely missed in midfield.

I don't see a problem. Pritch and fermie were too similar and didnt work together. Now we will see the best from him, as for Russell hue was poor anyway and won't b missed. Currant was unlucky to not get more games but to be honest harper has been superb this year. As for needing more players why we have a perfectly good youth we can use

It's a totally understandable decision by James if you ask me. I actually think he'd make a good assistant.

Good luck to them all. James had probably been the clubs best signing in the past few years, a real consistent performer. Also good luck to Lee, who seemed to struggle in his time back with us playing, but nobody could doubt his comittment and passion on the pitch. Hopefully he can re-capture the form he showed at his new club that he showed in his first spell with us.

This does however give us a great chance to bring someone fresh in and get some energy in the middle of the park, which I think is what we've missed.

We've still got Laurence Brown and Fermie, but they are more holding players an don't get around the pitch as their job is to hold. I know this is something i've banged on about before, but I hope we get a player with energy who gets up-and-down the pitch. Be very interesting to see who comes in.

Also throws out the captaincy issue as well with Pritchard. I'd expect Luke Evans to now become club captain, although saying that I thought Ricky Allaway lead by example in the Beaconsfield game, so we shall see!

I agree BR, Riddell has also been a good club servant.

I think this could see the emergance of Laurence Brown and Chris Fermie in our centre mid positons, which could be quite a good combination, it may also allow Sonny to step into the middle again.

All at Flackwell Heath FC wish Slough Town all the best for the remainder of the season and hope you can understand James' reasons for returning home to Wilks Park, where it is hoped he can develop his management skills whilst at the same time steering our team back up the league with his undoubted football ability.
