Just been on the Stansted website, think they are happy with Saturday's result.

SAWBRIDGEWORTH TOWN 1 STANSTED 5 (MATCH ATTENDANCE 85)

(RAICH FRASER 6) (JOHN BRICKNELL 18 DANNY DEMETRIOU 37 HAYWOOD 65 GREIG TAYLOR 67 BEN BRADBURY 90)

Mean, Moody, and absolutely magnificent sum's up our players showing on this the New Year's first heralded saturday, times have been hard of late but this was the "big performance in the tank" and giving us all that massive shot in the arm, make no mistake this was "the big stage" a committed local derby when to a man, players, management team, club official's, supporters alike, walked tall and lived the dream of what can collectively be achieved when the resolve committment and desire to succeed shone through like a beacon on the frozen waste.

All credit to our hosts for getting the game on in the first place and to our match officials who's sensible enterpretation of how the proceedings should pan out when common sense ruled the day, personnally without both these major ingredients this contest would have registered the same statistic as countless others across the land "match postponed frozen pitch".

What we have here at Hargrave Park is a great club camraderi we are not in it for the big pay out we all know the score that the fight for survival is a perrenial one but wearing the shirt with pride like our players did in this one will see us keep the faith no question.

For me their were individual performers out of the very top drawer in this Herts/ Essex cross borders Derby and none more so than Steve Merrick wearing the captains arm-

band a superb performer leading from the front as a defensive collosus calm collected and assured at every turning,John Bricknell for me arguably his best game in our colours scorer of our equaliser heavily involved in the "assist mechanism" for two others with his deft back heel to play in Ben Bradbury to slide rule past Jamie Ring absolute quality to rap it all up shortly "before the fat lady sings"

Nobody should be left out of saturday mention because their was a breeziness about the way we went about our business and a real tonic to see Jamie Haywood

gracing our scene the twinkle was back in the eye ex Leyton player Haywood a key cog in the wheel component that is Stansted F.C. we are so much brighter for his presence and he gave us the cushion at 3-1 after the host club were pushing for the leveller but denied by keeper Danny Fenn moments previous spreading himself tall at a critical stage in the proceedings

Against the Robins our cutting edge was back with Danny Demetriou and his former Takeley strike partner Greig Taylor delivering the goods in full measure, working their socks off for the collective cause building from midfield never afraid to go in where it hurts, yes all in all a grand day but one I hold dear on behalf of all of us but make no apology for dedicating its excellence to Chairman Terry Shoebridge and team boss Terry Spillane for gentleman without your committment to the cause far beyond what is indeed the call of considered duty we would not be here reliving the moments of the crispness of our match play on an occassion that the Sawbridgeworth big guns fell silent but on another day might be far better rewarded.

Stansted Danny Fenn, Will Sendall, Tommy Spillane, Steve Merrick (Capt)Luke Giddings Joe Johnson, Greig Taylor(Billy Haspineal 75), Ryan Murray, Danny Demetriou, John Bricknell, Jamie Haywood (Ben Bradbury 70) also on bench Jack Dallender, Scott Darby,

Now thats what I call a match report!!!!!!!!!
