The New Year campaign will have to be delayed until the Citizens game against Biggleswade United at Herns Lane on Tuesday night after the game today against Brimsdown Rovers was called off due to a frozen pitch.

 

As we head into the New Year under the leadership of the 'Dynamic Duo' Stuart Blackburne leads the goalscorers with 9 from 6 games, Fabio Valenti is second with 3 and Tom Lewis is third with 2.

 

The next few months will see many improvements at Herns Lane to reach the standard required for next season in the Premier Division and who knows maybe an assault on the league and a promotion into the Ryman League.

 

On the playing side we expect to see the return to fitness of Stuart Blackburne, Adam Wallace, Denis Maharjan and Richard Morton, giving the managers many more options on the line up for future games. It should be remembered that all the players play for no remuneration or reward, just a love of the game, a novelty these days and for that they deserve a great deal of respect. On the supporters front there is a 'feel good' factor around the club now and with continued success we can be sure to see some familiar faces returning to Herns Lane, raising the club profile and adding to the supporter base.
