seriously,i was gutted when i found out and thought the ref was a c**t,but by 3.30pm the sun had gone down and if one of our players had gone for a header, come down and smashed his head on the rock hard floor and f**ked himself,we would probably asked why the game was played.

don'tknow where i stand on this but the ref is a c**t for taking his match fee,and that is just because he is a ref.Now can someone please ring me up asking if i want to come out for a beer as previously arranged????

Frustrating day for me. Our match with Billericay called off at at 1pm so decide to go to your game. Half way to Upminster on the train get a text from Annie (thanks for that) saying the game is off!!!

The trouble is you can't make a decision until the Ref Does and it's no good trying to second guess him. The rules state you have to pay him as he has fulfilled his obligations so you have to swallow it I'm afraid.

We went to Aveley but they were not at home.

So we went to Purfleet but the Thurrock v Team Bath match was called off.

We then went back to Aveley where there was an Essex Senior League match against Burnham Ramblers - pitch was frozen at one corner and also in parts along the centre, but the match was played.

Once we got used to the different standard of football, it was quite a good game. Ramblers dominated the second half, despite having a player sent off by our favourite referee, and despite having another player off with injury, but they could not get the winner - result was one one.

On the subject of the Essex Senior League, it is nice to note that Takeley, just up from the intermediate league, are right at the top - remember them when they played here in the cap lge last season.
