LIVE commentary - MFC vs Dover Athletic

Unfortunately that seems to be a continuing theme June, we played well for the first 20 minutes. I think that was the comment against Ramsgate, and has been throughout the season. We seem to be a little impatient when we dont score in that time and lose a little confidence. The team really knocked the ball around well in that time and we really outplayed them in that period. The irony of the situation was that several Dover supporters sat around us in the stand said when they got that corner, "We'll probably go and score now as we've been so bad" and voila! However it was a good performance all round today but we were beaten by a team who were able to take their chances. We really need an established striker, which are hard to come by. Thought the defence played pretty well today. Harwood is quality.

obviously can not prove it but to blow my own trumpet i told mr kinnear a few years ago he needed to get over to deadwood and have a look at a centre back there! maybe someone from a more educated position could say just how far they think he could go. only possible fault i can see is a slight lack of pace, you can never be too quick the higher up you go.

Ollie is a good centre half who is still learning his trade and he could not have a better teacher than Hess, his contribution to Dover along with Dean Hill and Lawrence Ball has been immense. Shaun Welford has improved no end under Hess and Ollie will do the same.

Except for Ollie they all played for Dover first, I mentioned those players because of the Thanet interest and to highlight their development under a top Management team. The players mentioned are a credit to Dover. Best wishes to all at Margate with your financial problems and for the rest of the season which I hope ends with you as the top team in Thanet.
