I'm not sure who I am. Or who I'm not. Where am I? Am I really here?

 

Pitch inspections: it is certainly very annoying to have a wasted journey, but to be fair this is inevitable from time to time. Obviously the weather is somewhat unpredictable. If there is a realistic chance that a game may be on, do you really want to have it called off too early in the day? Although a 'local ref' can be called in in the morning to pronounce on the conditions, and may be able to call the game off then, but if it looks iffy the match ref won't get to the ground until about an hour before ko at this level and will always have the final say.

Let's be honest. At our level of football, the odds of a game going ahead if there has been bad weather is pretty low. No matter how many volunteers a club has, if the pitch is frozen, or likely to get worse, then it's best if the game does not go ahead. It's a shame for all supporters, but that's life.
