3.00 Kick Off's

Is there league regulations that mean that saturday games have to be played at 3.00.

 

It would be more senseable to me in this time of high electicity costs to play at 1.00 to avoid having to switch the floodlights on.

Someone on the ricay forum was suggesting that idea after their match with Heybridge was abandoned because of floodlight failure.

 

I don't think it's a bad idea. Maybe just implement it for Ryman Premier and below but would save alot of clubs some much needed cash.

good idea in my view especially with the current financial climate.

 

I believe the clubs would also generate more revenue from the bar etc because fans would then stay behind for a pint or 2 and watch Soccer Saturday.

 

Its probably an FA decesion at the end of the day and can anybody really see the Ryman League wanting to discuss the option with the FA?

I think you'll find it's down to your league - Not so much the F.A.

 

We have floodlights at Meadowbank, but don't technically need them after demotion from CCL Prem to Div. 1 last season.

 

HOWEVER - We ground-share with Bookham FC who are in the Premier Divison and require floodlights.

 

Just before Christmas we experienced a flood-light problem caused by excessive rain then frost. Bookham have been allowed to start their Saturday games at 2:00 until we fix the problem.

 

On the costs point of view, I think a 2:00pm kick makes perfect sense during the present credit crisis.

3pm KO gives the players an extra hour to recover from Friday night though.
