A change for 2009

Happy New Year to all....

 

Just to let people know that i have stepped down as chairman of the 'supporters club'.

 

I have recently been dissapointed by comments on this forum and by things that have been said to me in the bar by a couple of supporters & backroom staff.

 

Everybody should know that i've only ever done what i thought was right for the club / supporters.

 

I hope whoever takes over can get the coaches up and running again and can continue the great success of the 50/50....

Matt, thank you for all you have done for the club hun. (very very very much appreciated over the last 4 years)

 

And thank you also for calling me this morning and giving me the news before the forum.

 

I hope to see you at all the games and you still help out if you can (when work permits).

and a new years resignation from your goodself eh....well I am sorry to read that as its a thankless task matt as well you know as indeed are all manner of volunteer roles..there are always those that know best how to run things at a football club and it will be interesting to see what happens now in the desperate rush to replace you and your efforts...I have become immune to it all over the years and take it all in my stride and the comings and goings and resignations and reappointments and gossip and back biting and forum slatings are all a source of wry humour for me but we are all different I suppose and we see things in different ways and react in different ways...its a duck shoot at all times when we stick our heads above the parapets matt and those that do need to tread carefully and rise above it all...it is not possible to run with the hares and hunt with the hounds...'tis sadly the way it is...

 

the forums generate lots of good ideas from fans but putting those ideas into practice is a different ballgame altogether...we have never really had a supporters club as such and the efforts of you and yours are magnified due to that..I am sure that I speak for us all in thanking you for your efforts over the past 4 years...

 

as always life goes on and I hope we shall continue to see you at the games...(mind you I hope we can continue to see me as well if I can get out of the fckn ice age...

It's the same old story wherever you go. A load of know-all (know feck all) types on message boards pouring out uninformed opinion - and sometimes even reaching moderator status as a result.

Message boards are scary things for the intelligent individual trying to educate the masses.

Hitchin Town's Supporters Club Chairman/Shop manager isn't slow to put people right if anyone disagrees with him on the message board though.

would be very suprised if a coach is arranged for any more games this season people are just cuttin back financailly and would prefer to forfiet a game now, i think car share is the only alternative option

would it not be an idea for a local coach company such as swallows to have a copy of the fixtures and they control the bookings and fares.
