Then again - arms-sales are arms-sales.

There are too many Jewish votes in New York City, etc. for that to happen. No US President dare criticise Israel. The US Jewish vote far outweighs the US Arab vote.

Ermmmmm, I think the same could be said about Britain!

Putting the rights and wrongs of the current crisis to one side. If you consider how the Jewish faith has been persecuted world wide over the years (particularly a certain 2nd world war) you can sort of understand their arrogance to others. Their view might be...Why should they give a f&ck about others because nobody has ever given a f&ck about them.

Well, I've finally come out on the side of the Arabs.

1. The number of children killed by the Israeli's by bombing/shelling schools.

2. The fact that the Israeli's have banned all outside journalists from Gaza. As one critic said on TV last night, "They don't want the world to see how they are operating".

Then again, they were taught well by a certain country, circa 1939-45.

Yup, indeed. However, the Islamic vote may outweigh the Jewish vote in the UK due to the number of immigrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh. If it does not outweigh it, it would be close.

I see after the Security Council's resolution for a ceasefire early this morning, (which only the American's vetoed), I see both sides have rejected it.

So, the slaughter will continue ?

Well done U.N., yet again !!!!

I can't see these countries getting involved in the Jewish- Arab conflict!

Whoops! I was not referring to your comments on India-Pakistan, but was just thinking about other Moslem groups in Britain that might change their vote if they were unhappy at a government policy.

There has been an interesting effect showing in some local elections in the UK recently. Some inner-city Labour safe seats have gone to the Liberal Democrats. The reason is that many voters of Pakistani and Bengali origins have changed away from Labour in protest at the British involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan and have gone to the LDs who oppose these wars. It is not that they would have supported Saddam Hussain or the Taleban, but rather that they see British forces attacking an Islamic country and are opposed to that.

If the British government were to come out fully in support of Israel, I suspect these voters would not vote for them at the next election. In the same way, if the British Government were to come out fully in support of Gaza, many Jewish voters would not vote for them at the next election.

Something of a dilemma for politicians when deciding what to do - and I cannot think of any group more deserving of a dilemma. doah

Yeah........ nuke everything east of me.

Trouble is that would limit where I go on my hols but it would mean we get a walkover in the Ashes.

Plus only little bits of France are east of me.
