BOOKHAM V BEDFONT GREEN IS

Teflon

So we can expect the postponement to be announced about 11.30am then? wink

Walked past Meadowbank a couple of times this week early afternoon and one side of the pitch still had a covering of frost, so with the forecast I don't hold out much hope!

In fact will there be any games on I wonder?

If Teffers has a pitch inspection in the morning, I should be at home, so I'll be able to post any info straight onto here for those of you hoping to sample the delights of Meadowbank !

Well there's been no frost in Dorking for the last 2 nights, not sure if we'll have one tonight or not. If not, hopefully it should be OK for tomorrow's game. Pitch looked OK when I walked past just now, but can't tell how hard it is from looking!

By the way, don't know if anyone saw 'The Big Match Revisited' yesterday on ITV4? It was from December 1978 and they showed a bit of Coventry v Everton. Half the pitch was completely covered in snow and the other half looked worse than Meadowbank!! Can just imagine today's Premier League prima donnas playing on that type of surface - NOT!

oh yes orange balls, the lines swept away by broom, extra vaseline on the knees, and a large brandy before kick off.

no wonder I never made it....

not bad. Lots of old grass clippings and moss all over the place though. Dont think the groundsman pays much attention to it before Badshot play on there.

Ground much improved though from years back. Even got a plasma t.v in the changing room. Handy when the boss is waffling on a bit. Managed to watch a whole set of the World darts championships during our team talk.

Can even watch the scores coming in on Sky Sports while playing, due to the plasma screen in the terraces.

DFC - Floodlights update.

Meadowbank floodlights were inspected today.

Thankfully, the problem is not as serious as we first thought, though there are some replacements/repairs to be done. The parts are ordered and, hopefully the work will be completed during the coming week.

There is, of course, the relevant safety inspection to follow be we sincerely hope all will be back to normal by the end of next week.
