I appreciate that I been criticised before on this forum for having the affrontery to ask why we do not receive "official" information from the "Official website" but is there any chance that we might have an announcement about the signing of new loan players I don't even know how to pronounce their names let alone know where they have come from,is there any chance that the "official" website will indulge myself and perhaps others to let us know "0ffcially" the circumstances of the signings.

 

And perhaps while still on the same subject a little information about who may have left eg SCS,(where is he?) The club progamme advertises the "Official" Margate FC website where it displays "all the latest news" sorry but that statement is very untrue.

 

You might think I am banging on about the same subject but I repeat I am very frustrated how the club interact or fails to interact with its loyal fanbase.

If nothing else, it ends speculation-example-we're trying to work out if erksine is still on loan or loan spell ended .-and as you say-what exactly is the status of SCS ?

Thank you MM I just wish the club would communicate with the fans, the local paper should be picking up stories from the Official website surely, I only receive information from this forum and the programme but unless told otherwise that is produced by the hard work of our loyal unpaid supporters,

When the mainstay of the club is run by volunteers , i think we need to show a bit of patience of things like this, which is where i guess i have disagreed with you slightly GT, but a bit of general team update info once a week is surely possible

Tend to agree with you there MM, the only trouble is that with so many comings and goings in the last few months we would get fed up with people advising us of them!

But surely every non-league club is run by a mainstay of volunteers, from the Conference downwards, but most give out up to date infomation on a regular basis.

To be fair, whilst i still think MFC could do a bit better here, i think the info we get is better than most at ryman and conf south level.

 

Not the best by far, but certainly 'in the middle '

Perhaps you should volunteer your services GT, as I said much of this information is put on voluntary.

I am not having a go at anyone who serves loyally this club but i just feel that we shoot ourselves in the foot these are pretty basic details and other sites manage it, my complaint is not with anyone who gives their own time it is with the Club and the fact that they advertise an "official website" but how can it be official if it relies on volunteers who do not receive information from the club.

Funnily enough we are trying to sort out a way of improving the timeliness of squad info. One thing I will say is that (as Alan points out) there will always be less info about departures and particularly those of a controversial nature. Also, some details around some signings will not be shared simply for competitive reasons (a policy decision).

 

But, it is our intention to be a bit quicker off the mark with the "ins".

Thanks Wellsie, no criticism of you and thanks for the explanation, I appreciate all you do for the Club, I get frustrated as stated as i feel it is only ever one way information,would be nice to have seen something about the loan signings thats all I was saying, us fans are the only constant about our club and at times I still feel we are treated very poorly by Club officials, anyway rant over.

Just to let you know, I have been working on updated player profiles for a couple of days and am about half way through (damn 'proper' work getting in the way!) and have been given the setting to update the profiles on the site.

As I have not done any web stuff for a while it is taking me a while to get back into the swing of it and, obviously, as it is not my site this time I have to be extra cautious with anything I change or upload.

Having said that, I intend to try to have a test run tonight (if the missus goes to bed soon) and if everything goes fine I will then get everything sorted in a couple of days.

Initially I am only doing those who are most likely to feature on match days (22 players I think)but will also add any other players that are relevant.
