2 decisions here imo.

Who plays at full back-i thought Morris and gregory did well v ramsgate (against poor opponents just the same )and do you keep them at full back or bring back corbishley ?

Main thing to me is pack midfield and forget about wide players.

my team:

Mullins

Morris Young harwood Gregory

Ohakam

Stubbs Wilson Corbishley

healey

Shittu

subs: Tako, Beresford Peters Wheatley ,Treadwell .

Corbishley arguably out of position, but i reckon he could do a job there, keep it solid, protect wilson, `enabling wilson to be a bit more creative as he is the only playmaker really.

From what I saw (close up) Morris got run ragged by S.Ball on Saturday.Fair dues he did okay v Harlow but Saturday will be a completely different kettle of fish to contend with.We will undoubtedly be on the back foot more & more experience will be required back there on the day.

Its against my ideal but maybe Peters reverting back to full back might be a better option.

I,like others am disappointed with his input in midfield (though I still believe that's his best position). But if he ain't doing what he could & should be doing in midfield then put him back to full back to cut out the pace of their tricky & speedy wingers.

Mullins

Peters - Erskine(if available) - Young - Harwood - Gregory

Wilson - Ohakam - Stubbs - Healey

Shittu - Tako(if Erskine not available)

Subs : Quain,Beresford,Corbishley,Masade,Solomom.

Harwood to cover for Gregory,Erskine to cover for Peters if having gone forward.

wasnt Harwood bought in to replace Erskine as his loan was over??

anyways, 5 defenders and Ohakam? thats far too defensive, we wont get a chance to get the ball up the other end if we play like that... i know we probably wouldnt score anyways, but id like to see them try, you know?

Mullin

Peters Young Harwood Gregory

Healey ??? Ohakam Wilson Stubbs

Shittu

Subs: Beresford, Corbishley, Quain, Tako, ???

What position does that Ebenezer bloke play in? he sounded good when he was on. and that Soloman chap, he had potential. these two fill in my ??? spaces...

Quite possible Stuy.Makes sense. As for my 5 in defence,my emphasis would be on defending because with whatever formation we put out there that's going to be a major part of our game on Saturday. Sad but true I think.Would be nice to think otherwise but I'm pretty sure we'll be trying to hold them for the most.
When we DO get forward my thoughts are for Peters & Gregory to move up more & overlap if possible. We have to take full advantage if we do manage to get them on the back foot. That's where the other defenders need to be on their guard & cover for those two.
Harwood played like a sweeper a lot on Saturday & did a fine job, especially in that second half.He could possibly cover for BOTH if needed.
One thing we might have an advantage of on Saturday is that our pitch must be a lot smaller than the Dover pitch therefore there might just be too much bunching for Dover to play their game.We do therefore have a good chance of getting something out of this game for that reason alone. Its not such a forgone conclusion as some might think, but we'll still have a lot of defending to do,no doubt.

from what ive seen, i dont think we have the ability to bully Dover. but irrespective of our lineup and that of the opponents, passing around and looking for openings, as opposed to hitting it long and hoping something opens up, is what they need to work on. they didnt pass the ball enough on saturday, they either hit it to red shirts, or gave it to Quain so that he could run it off the pitch. both tactics were unaffective...

Agreed;and whilst it was the same for both sides; it was a bit difficult to pass well on a bumpy and sticky pitch.

I think both sides thus struggled;but ramsgate adapted the best.

You need to be able to 'play' in all conditions

Ian,
How about them playing the five or six lads that where in the bar after the game let them have a few shandys before the game then they will put a good fight. Perhaps they could sign the dad up as well! excited

Surely Robinson was the other illness victim. But hopefully there's a chance of bringing Erskine back in on loan.

------------Mullin---------------

Corbishley Young Harwood Robinson

------------Ohakam---------------

Peters------Wilson--------Gregory

------------Healy----------------

------------Shittu---------------

Subs Beresford, Morris, Stubbs, Takaloo, Solomon

If Erskine returns for another loan spell in time for the game:

------------Mullin---------------

---Erskine--Young--Harwood-------

Corbishley---------------Robinson

------------Ohakam---------------

------------Wilson---------------

----Peters------------Healy------

------------Shittu---------------

Subs Beresford, Morris, Gregory, Stubbs, Takaloo

Mullins

Peters Young Harwood Gregs

Ebaneza Wilson Stubbs Savage

Shittu Mo

Subs : Corbs , Soloman , Beresford , Ohakam , Healy .

Pace down both sides with Ebe and Savage then the two can feed balls in as much as poss to Shittu and Mo , hopefully this will allow Ryan and Gregs to push up on the wings feeding Wilson and Stubbs which will help them to push balls through to Shittu and Mo as well , two differant ways of feeding our front men . This has to be an attacking side on Saturday no sitting back just 90mins of crushing them as much as possible . Up the Gate .
