Is Chris Kinnear looking for a job?

Quite correct.Success this season for me is to still be in Ryman premier next season. Then for the following couple of seasons consolidate build a new young team (half way there now) and then promotion. With the setup we have in the ressies & youth now and the players comming through WE will be the envy of all the Kent clubs for years to come.

Firstly we have to convince the players and the manager to stay but how can a club with history like ours do that . The club has to work more professional than its ever done before to secure the services of its staff but it also has to make it known who`s contracted and who`s not , this is for surporters to no so they can help gel with the squad and encourage them on to better things for MFC . If they can achieve this then yes the future would look good for us but only if its done correctly .

"What they would have signed for a Ryman 1 side as that was where CK was taking the team. Who can remember that dire performance against Redbridge. That was the one that got him his gardening leave."

We already had enough points to stay up when we gave him the bullet (39 at 4/4/2006, Maldon were relegated with 35). We replaced him with a guy who had no experience of management. He failed (despite having plenty of money to play with, the likes of Protheroe don't play for peanuts) and will probably never work in management again.

I agree Alan the trouble with a small minority of fans at this club is that they always look backwards. We should look forward.

Dwelling on history is nice but you only remember the good times.

Agreed - and we should never write people off or assume that they would even want to come back.

Out of interest, and good as he was, I think I am correct in saying that in all his years with MFC Almer Hall never won the Kent League.

CK was part of our history no doubt, and what great times they were, but it is only history now, and as much as we revere CK we must give our support to the current incumbent and TY has the pedigree to get us moving forward again, lets all get behind him and the team for Saturday tough as it will be and for the rest of the season and hope we still have a future.

[quote=StuyRandall]team at the top of chmpionship with a good chance of promotion into the premiershiop - or - team struggling in the conference and losing lots of money... yeah, i can see the temptation there... lol

sorry Gaz, its not likely to happen

Aren't you missing something Stuy? CK is not Manager at Wolves - just a scout. If he was top dog at the Club then your argument might be valid.

The big question is does he still want the day-to-day responsibility of a Managers job?

Also... Has his experience during the latter days of his employment at Margate soured his appetite for the position?

....... Do the ambitions of the Board at Ebbsfleet match his?

....... Can Ebbsfleet afford to match his ambitions?

i see your point Peter, but as a scout, he's found some of the players that have got Wolves to where they are, so if they get promoted, he can say with pride that he was a big part of that and gain a lot of job satisfaction. whereas, being a manager of a non league team who are losing a lot of money is less satisfying and more stressful...
