Cambridge City.....

Recommended Posts

This rumour about the Millwall game is, of course, just a rumour.

However, what is a fact is that, in the last matchday programme, that chap who used to drive the red tractor announced that the admission prices for the Millwall, Gillingham and Rushden games will be £8 with the usual concessions etc., [presumably], and the price for Arsenal XI is to be £10.

If it is a Millwall trial game etc., perhaps someone should re-appraise the position.

Caretaker seems to have a line in to t'top table?

The price for Arsenal XI is £10. Is that really wise? Considering, of course, that it is an XI which could mean anything. I'm only saying this because there may be a fair few unhappy punters if people turn up to the Arsenal game, advertised as an Arsenal game, and see the under 9's playing, or even Stepanovs.

Perhaps someone could put to the committee a word about the Arsenal XI game and the Millwall game at the same time??

AFF

The line I use seems to be constantly engaged ... usually on something unrelated to items that really matter.

If the game is a trial game why don't we treat it in the same way. Play some first team, mix with reserves / youth (mainly one and the same) and lower the admission price accordingly.

We could do this for one or two pre season games which would allow people to see if any up and coming youngsters are worth considering for a squad place next season.

We would get a decent crowd if promoted correctly and it was explained the pupose of the trial.

Not exactly rocket science is it

Hi Caretaker.

First, and a long way foremost, please remember that it's not me who has suggested that we may not be playing host to the mighty Millwall 1st XI.

Secondly, the admission price does not affect me personally as I will have a season ticket.

I could, therefore, say "It's nothing to do with me" and let everyone get on with it.

However, for the past two seasons, we have had some pre-season friendly matches at The Park where the opposition has brought a squad of triallists, rather than our heroes from the Nationwide Division 2 or whatever and the full price admission has been charged.

I have heard a lot of whinging and whining [not just from the usual whingers and whiners] at the admission prices to these games which, I suggest, is potentially counter productive and damaging.

I appreciate that the Board are busy people and whilst they know more about football than I [that's not difficult - I don't know anything about football], they are busy people and might not have had time to think this one through.

You have friends in high places, C. You might like to mention it.

Its was more about the idea than which game AFF. I just happened to pick up on your comments to get this point across. In principle I believe it could generate a fair deal of interest and be of benefit to those who decide the make up of the squad next season.

I am trying ...and no smart [****!!****] comments please

None of you have got it right. Sorry I wasnt as quick to the mark as you would have liked Zeal but I have been extremely busy!

I have heard that Adie Blundell is moving to Cambridge City next season as he is too expensive for us to keep. I have a feeling he woudl have moved anyway even if he hadnt been asked to.

Can anyone comfirm this?

Means we will have to find someone else to hurry the players up after a match now eh FQT?!
