Fearless prediction...you saw it here first!

Thomas Oar(17/18?)made his debut for the Queensland Roar in the A_League this afternoon and he will play at the top level in Europe within the next 2 or 3 years.

Very fast, left footed winger with great ball skills and heaps of aggression.

Also scored from free kick 25 metres out with Beckham-like dipping in-swinger.

Might be a little pricey for Enfield Town.

He turned 17 last week and is currently in the Youth World Cup squad and the Australian Under 20's team...yeah, OK I'll send him over but only if you blokes take him out to Hobbs Cross with you!

He is 17 years old and he is being used sparingly by Frank Farina, the Queensland (and ex-Australian) Coach. I saw Melbourne Victory beat Queensland 2-1 last Friday night. Big game tonight in Melbourne - Melbourne v Adelaide - second v first. I am on my way in an hour or so.

Happy New Yaer to all ETFC people and thanks for the warm wlecome when I was over there in October at the Ware game.

By the way, Melbourne's average crowd is about 22,500 and they are having a new 32,000 seater rectangular stadium built as we speak. It's half way out of the ground.

Here's my tip - Australia will host the World Cup finals in 2018 or 2022. The government has just given Football Australia $AU46 million to pay for the bid. My guess is 2022, with South Africa in 2010, Brazil in 2104, Europe 2018 and then Australia to complete the geographic circle.
